What did you do for your mom, or your wife? My mom's deceased, so I cooked up a simple dinner for my wife. Thankfully, she didn't have to work, so she's taking it easy. No superfluous flowers or cards, and no fighting crowds at a restaurant. The daughter is visiting friends, so she can just relax.

My mother informed me earlier in the week that she wouldn't be home on Mother's Day. So I decided to surprise her with flowers and another card and drove down to deliver them yesterday (Saturday, May 9th).

Instead it was I who was surprised because she wasn't home. So I put my gifts between the storm door and back door and drove back home.

Several hours later my mother called and thanked me for the gifts. At least I know that she got them and liked them.

She was out of town, visiting her mom. My dad and I have spent the last 2 weeks fixing up their house, though. She gets back tonight.
