Does it smell like burnt toast? You might want to seek medical attention then...

Woah! Didn't realize there would be weather maps in AE. That is going to be cool sneaking my bombardment TFs in behind a rain storm.

Just curious as to the size of the airbase at Winnipeg? There were several dozen Commonwelth Air Training bases within 100 miles of 'the Peg' which I am glad to see are not cluttering the map. May have translated into a large SPS, ... or ignored as not relavant.

Don't get your hopes up. Making major changes to the weather model didn't make the cut.

Sorry,
Bill

But is on the plate (at least to be looked at) for a patch. But weather in AE works the same as WitP.

I was reading the article linked in the first post on this thread and saw something curious. The second screen shot in the article is of a/c bombing Pearl Harbor. On the left half of the combat screen is a shot of the game map showing a carrier strike on "Pearl Harbor." On the right is the combat screen showing the a/c. What's funny is that on the lower right, it indicates tat the "major airfield and port" being bombed is "Pearl Harbour."

Since the map artwork is fixed, it looks like there may be some reference to Pearl Harbour (instead of Harbor) in the database.

You know, that's what happens when you have members of the Commonwealth working on these projects. They (you know: them as compared to us) always want to use the Queen's English and spell things like harbour, colour, aluminium, theatre, favourite, tyre. And, of course, they want to stand in a queue to ride the tram.

Okay, since this is a game involving a lot of Europe's colonies, I'll go along with it for most of the map area. But I was kinda hoping that the U.S. and its territories might escape colonial treatment.

What you're referring to is just a place keeper piece of artwork.  It's will be replaced with something better for release.  That piece of art just wasn't ready yet when the advance copy was provided to the magazine.  It's spelled that way because the person who made the place keeper was Australian.  Pearl Harbor is consistently spelled the American way in the game.

Wow. I'm gobsmacked at the quick response. Your response works for me. Just keep those darned Aussies away from the spellchecker.

Don't forget we also put SAUCE on our pies while standing in a queue several metres long at the harbour to catch a ferry to our favourite theatre to watch a colour picture, because our motor car had a punctured tyre, not to mention it was low on petrol. eeek who started me on this trash, sorry rubbish.

On of my favorite local watering holes serves a dish called "Freak Balls" which is a layer of French Fries covered with spicy boneless chicken wings and then layered with cole slaw and melted cheese. I always order it when I eat there. Last time I was digging into an order I thought, "God, no wonder the Europeans think we are a bunch of classless neanderthals". Hey, you are what you eat they say

The Scottish deep fry Mars bars. From what I've heard, they deep fry anything that isn't moving under its own power.

In Quebec they have poutaine (sp).

I don't think Americans have the world's lock on heart attacks on a plate. Though we probably beat the world in calories per day per capita. I think somebody is eating my share though.

Umm we lost a few we won a few I confess I still detest the US date convention and struggle with it a lot.

As for spelling wasn't even aware they were deliberately spelled differently - just assumed every yank I worked with couldn't spell so you learn somethiong new every day

p.s. I lived in Scotland for 30 years I never saw a deep fried mars bar - deep fried pizza, haggis, black and white pudding but never a mars bar !!!

There's some place in Brooklyn that does that with candy bars but I think they use Snickers (my favorite). They also do fried Twinkies and serve with Ice cream - which sounds disgusting but was described as heaven on earth by the patrons. It's modeled after someplace in the UK, I think in London.

Scotland's tendency to deep fry everything sounds like my state fair.  The entire concourse is lined with kiosks selling everything from deep fried candy bars to deep fried beer and Coke.
