Sigh ...  Let's see.  Would you like the standard answers?

T will say "no". (...whether he is invited to play or not.)

Others will say:  Once the AE team is ready, the game will be passed to Matrix who will decide when to declare the game has gone "gold" and when to release it.

Maybe we should create a standard answer in the must read threads.

I, for one, will not bother asking about the date.... it distracts me from my pacing and agonizing as I wait.

I've been thinking for some time now they release at Origins like the original WITP, though I certainly hope I'm wrong and it'll be sooner than that. In any event, the news from the Wargamer forums can't be bad news...

I don't even get grumpy when "people" call it "vaporware" any more. I, and the rest of the AE team, know better, so we're not the ones looking silly.

At the moment, we have reached the last page of the pre-release checklist, and we have firm dates on all the remaining things that need to be done. You people are just about to have an avalanche of Pacific wargaming land on your collective heads...

It's always been here. New issues get knocked down every single day, and there are fewer and fewer around to be knocked down.

Hear that rumbling? Better put your helmets on...

Not my call. I'm just a lowly peon...

I will say this, though: even after several years of working on this thing, I can still get excited about it, and as we move closer and closer to the finishing line, the excitement is building.

Hang in there, people. You'll get your chance, and a lot sooner than you think.

I for one hope that Mr Term isn't playing a cruel joke. I have had some impressive bad luck this past month so I am hoping that this will be a signal that my luck is changing for the better. Already have me dollars saved up.

Nothing to do with me; we're going full-tilt on all fronts at the moment, because every member of the team can see the end of the road.

Long-distance runners talk about "hitting the wall"; we've hit dozens of them over the past several years, and every time we've smashed them down and pushed through. That's one of the things that has impressed me the most with this effort: not the amount of knowledge and expertise people have brought to the table (although it's ginourmous) but the perseverance.

You know when your a "peon" when people are standing around waiting to pee on you.

Sorry I just couldn't resist an attempt at humor even in this very serious (good news) thread.

Boy do I know what you mean!! Financial and income problems due to the banking crisis/economy and family stresses and troubles. You say you are saving up for it, I am trying to figure out how to hide the upcoming purchase from my wife.

OMG!
My game with Halsey is at May 45. Check.
My game with Buttsworth is at Dec 42 (But I have royally mucked up the Japanese side so I anticipate allied invasion of the home islands soon). Check.

Things to do:
Defrag portable HD.
Take sick leave for the next year.
Send spouse of for long stay at spa.

Rats! I need the dates!

Things continue to look good for a release before the five year anniversary of WITP's release.

I would ask to you go look up the release date of the original WitP, and then re-read Erik's post. Then I would repeat "put your helmets on".

You guys said that same crap like a year ago. Why is it different now?

Lets have an open beta, a link to the games website or a video demo complete with intro screens - Or admit to vaporware.
