1. The Peace of Longjumeau in 1568, which ended the second French War of Religion.

2. Patrick Henry's speech in 1775 - "Give me liberty or give me death."

3. Benito Mussolini founding his fascist movement in Milan during 1919.

4. The launch of Gemini 3 in 1965, the ship named Molly Brown where V. Gus Grissom (who was born only about 30 miles from my home) and John Young take up the first manned Gemini ships (and Young smuggles a corned beef sandwhich onboard).

5. Or the birthday of Wernher Von Braun and Playboy model Karen McDougal.

Playing at the moment? I occasionally fire up Empire Total War...mostly just to sit back and look at my army and how they reload (all at different times and speeds), smoke coversing the battlefield etc, etc. My current love is Ka-50 Black Shark...it's a study helicopter simulation and very, very difficult...so I'm trying to get onto that. If I feel like a quick game, I'll fire up GTR2 or Left 4 Dead or Team Fortress. I'm waiting with baited breath for my boxed version of Crown of Glory EE so I can get the manual.

Where r u working in Scotland?

Are you happy with ETW? im working away too often at the mo to have a good run at it and im still on the RTI chapter 2 section - but a new Darthmod is out and its fixing a lot of things people are happy with

Status: offline 		Ahh...the old Armadillo. So you are in Glasgow then. Very nice. Make sure they treat you right! Where r u from?

E:TW - I only pick it up occasionally because it does seem to have shortfalls. I haven't noticed half the stuff other people are mentioning because I'm only on Chapter 3 of the RtI, but the AI does seem to be a bit thick. Cavalry ALWAYS flank, and alone. So as long as I have my frontline along with my left and right flanks covered to protect my arty, then I'm good to go. I also keep my cav back in case the AI completely bypass my defense line on the flanks...but apart from using cav in the flanks, it doesn't seem to do an awful lot in the intelligent front. Charging out of a beseiged city seems the biggest dumb thing to do. I mean, they should really make the attackers do the work...Any mod that comes out has to be a good thing...I'll check it out.

I don't mind the game, but I can see why alot of people are disappointed. I discovered the AI was a bit dim in the demo, so I knew what I was buying.

Status: offline 		im from Leeds, but work in Staffordshire - but we go all over the place im going to san diego next week and egypt after that - but every now and again we get to go to exciting places like glasgow!!!

the mod does seem to be doing the right things and its only a 0.1 release at the mo - i agree about peoples complaints and their relevance to my gaming experience - i dont know if im just too stupid to notice all the stuff the game's not doing - ive simply enjoyed the ride so far

Status: offline 		It's evening here already. Just recently I went back to play Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, and beated it through with Space Marines (Blood Ravens chapter). After that I've read BattleTech stuff (rules, novels & TRO: Vehicle Annex).

Some days I play turn or 2 of SPWAW, but it's not every week. Just for Hell of it, I started Long Campaign with russkies in order to find out HOW did they got their ass kicked in early war... and while I'm (still) in the first scenario decimating german infantry charge (without ANY vehicles!), I don't get it

Then its time to move on to cigars and chew too. Chew (Skoal straight)and espresso are wonderful together. Actually, Chew and coffee is also excellent-having some right now-come to think of it; chew is good with anything-but I digress.

One real advantage to chew is that you can hide it from your "better half"-can't do that with cigars. The fairer sex seem to have some irrational sentimentality about cigar smoking in the house. Now, with chew, you can use camouflaged spittoons here and there-she will never notice. It also is more healthy as you won't have to sit and smoke in a cold garage or outside.

So, if you want to live longer, feel better, smell better, switch to Skoal (remember to brush your teeth).
