most anticipating is??????????????????

With the news coming out from Matrix staff , the artists and the testers of AE features I was wondering what new feature the members of this site are most looking forward to.

Lots to chose from and it's kind of a toss up between the new map which I'd include the 40 miles per hex scaling .

Impossible to answer. I will say this though: I will never cease to be amazed by the number of times a Forum poster has asked if "feature xxx" is being considered for AE only to be told, "It's in there". Unbelievable job by the AE Team.

What mind boggling is that the new Russian Front game that is being worked on is 10 miles to the hex. The Eastern front stretched for between 1800 and 2000 miles at some points. Talk about having to micromanage!

Accurate aircraft ranges and a better system of calculating the individual planes' capabilities!
(The way The Elf has explained this, I am very confident we will like it.)

The 40-mile scale is the thing I'm most looking forward to, but it's a close call, because lots of other stuff is very high on my list too.

Ool, are you referring to 2by3's new war-in-Russia game? I didn't realize it would be 10 miles per hex. *drool*

I am truely looking forward to everything, but I gotta say that the attention to detail is way above and beyond the call of duty. I can't wait to see my first sub ground on a reef. Oh, the modding possibilites!

All these additional random factors, units, bases, fixes to the code . . . someone will have to please call 911 upon release, if I can't stop smiling now, I may never be unhappy again!

. Did you request that feature from one of the devs...If not, how do you expect to get it?

Which new Ost Front game is that? That sounds like a dream game for me!

I think he is talking about 2by3's Russia front game. You can read about it in their dev diaries(feb 15 entry) located on their web site.

Its in early alpha stage...so don't start holding your breath!

Yes I'm with crimguy waypoints and a 2009 release. ( every time I log onto the AE sight it reminds me of a seventies song.......... all I want to do is dream, actually the WITP concept is probably older)

Oh, where to start?

Waypoint
40-mile hexes
Search sectors for planes
sub patrol area
ASW patrol area
Some control of overland supplies
A very well put together OOB
Ship repair improvements
Drop tanks

....just to name a few.

The feature I'm looking best for is the AI scripts as to how the AI handles regardless of what side you play. Hopefully it won't just sit there & let you take over the Pacific or stop doing anything if you throw a whiffle ball curve at it.

I'm looking forward to the map with the 40 mile scale.  I use my desktop for AE and look at google earth on my laptop as an aid.

Next three are close seconds, waypoints, sub & asw patrol areas.

I'm also very interested in the tracker as well.  I currently don't use this and am waiting for AE to start.  My son thinks I'm nuts to enjoy a game that requires me to use spreadsheets.

Ability to shadow, pursue and intercept? Wooooo....that would be a logical step forward in a naval game.

The Ability to Mass Produce Oscars with 20 mm's  or Tojos with 4x 20 mm.

This can enable a massive increase in the Army Fighter capabilities from  Early war.

Actually it might be easier to do something close to those things in Stock than in AE at least early on.

The ability to play it!

There are so many new features in AE that it is truly difficult to pick any single one out, so for me the top one would probably be the new map, since it it closer to UV in scale and I definitely preferred the UV scale. Besides, I'm a map freak (have a file cabinet dedicated to nothing but maps and it has overflowed and filled a cardboard file box...).

For me all of the above plus maybe, just maybe, the end of the leader bug. Please?

In the last week in two of my games Shinano has gotten itself captained by a Brit, and the ship is halted in the build list over 1000 days out. Woos' Decoder reminds me to "fix it" every time I load a turn. Gotta love it!
