Apparently loaned units can't enter their own territory if access hasn't been granted by the loaning power to the loanee. A Spanish ship at sea, loaned to France, can't enter Spanish ports. This can't be right....

I'm sure it was implemented this way to avoid abuse by the players!

Odd for sure??? What are the access setting for France and Spain?

It was near the beginning of the game and Spain had not yet granted access to France. An oversight to be sure--but really it should not have this result. Spanish ships would never be barred from Spanish ports.

Remember, the whole point is to simulate combined movement--not to pretend Spanish ships start flying the French flag.

Similarly (as reported in another thread) corps should be able to draw supply from their own depots and get a foraging bonus on their own territory, even if lent. I mean, if you have a French corps in France and it's lent to Spain but ends up staying where it is, what exactly is being simulated by not letting it draw supply from the depot it's sitting on or even get a foraging advantage. It's just supposed to allow coordination of movement; it's not like all the troops suddenly start speaking Spanish and having cultural misunderstandings with their French hosts!

Everything that's been pointed out in the various loaned-unit threads really comes down to the same thing: if lending is to simulate combined movement, then that's what it should simulate. The units are not changing ownership, they're just being moved by their ally.

Agreed.
Why don't you send me that naval phase and I'll take a look!
