Hey guys, maybe someone can help me. I have built up Lunga to the max (SP). I have enough aviation support, probably more then 100 needed. I do have a ton of fighers, tb's and Lb's on the island. I also have the South P. HQ on the island. Planes and bombers were flying but now have stopped for many days, maybe even a couple of weeks. I even changed commanders but nothing helps. I yea, I have alot of supplies and fuel there too, probably 80-90k supplies. Morale is very good to great for most too.

Question 2: If you build up your bases to a certain SP and are in a Malaria zone the zone should be taken off correct? Using the above example, Lunga, my Malaria zone is still there and the guys are still heavily fatigued. Anyone run into this problem? I think I let the computer take control of the China stuff and maybe that screwed it up. Any chance the computer will right itself?

Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

What is the weather over the base?

Adverse weather will cancel flights.

One of the things I would love to see is something that tells us why things like this happen. something in the ops file or somewhere - it is frustrating to try and figure out if you have a bug, bad orders, or you just have bad die rolls.

Well if Nomad replied with his statement I don't feel so bad because I did feel like I had tried most everything. And I do thank you both for responding.

Now get this Nomad. I switched my LB's to night and now they are bombing. Now the funny thing is I thought maybe it was an escort issue. However before even posting this question I positioned 2 carriers in between to act as escorts. I still don't know why they won't bomb during the day but atleast I get some nightime action out of them.

So as far as the Malaria question, I guess it's a bug? This really stinks and really hampers the entire board for planning action. I guess I will be sending guys in (SE Asia too) with much fatigue.

The high facilities level at the base will alleviate the effects of malaria to some extent but it does not remove the malaria status of the base.

Two things it could be:-
Do you have an air HQ in range? Have you set an objective or is it commanders choice. I believe that with commanders choice if there are no decent targets within range they don't fly.

You also want to make sure you have enough escorts. If you have too many fighters flying CAP, or have no fighters assigned the Escort mission then the planes wont fly if CAP is expected over the target. I think the number of escorts needed is something like at least 1/2 the number of "expected CAP/interceptors", with the number expected calculated as 50% of what your intel tells you the enemy has in the way of fighters there (or capable of getting there). Stationing carriers in between wont help, AFAIK, since LR CAP isn't teh same as escort.
