Since I really have no clue, I want to ask here if any on you use external hard drives for your gaming...

No, I only use them for data, pics, videos, backups and the like.

I do, I have an e-sata enclosure with a 160 GB sata hard drive that I use for most of my games.
Works great.

I have a USB 500 Gb I use for data storage. It is much too slow for any other use.

Nope. I try to keep everything inside the case - not spread it around.

Ok, thanks guys... I was thinking it would be good to great for my older games ie Pzgen 1,2,3. but it seems not to much so for many....
