Carrier Force questions - 3/19/2008 4:08:09 PM

I just found out about this game and I have a couple questions.

First, this sounds a lot like War in the South Pacific an SSI game (by Gary I think) from the late eighties. It had turns that were adjustable from an hour (or maybe less) to eight or more hours (its been a long time, so I don't remember clearly). Does this sound accurate?

Second, is there a general time frame when this will be released? Nothing specific maybe quarter or year? I've been thinking about getting Carriers at War, but I will hold off if this game is getting close.

Thanks,
Bill

I think RedArgo is thinking of Grigsby's PacWar, which is more like WitP than UV/CF despite the fact they all share the same engine.

The people doing CF development are keeping their cards very close to their chest.

Hello,

Carrier Force from what little we have heard sounds like it may be be close to how SSI's War in the South Pacific played. I spent many hours playing that game.

But the devil is in the details and those we are waiting on, so I do not know the timeframe for release of Carrier Force.

It would still be nice to get some kind of info on what we can expect or what they hope to give us.

Yes very true.

Need to fall in with that. Especially true since there was an inquiry from Tankerace that attracted attention of many forum members. But unfortunately this thread is silent now, and Tankerace made no further comment on it.

Yes it would, but did you notice that CF isn't even listed as "under development" on the Matrix forums?

It could be that it's far enough off in the future that they can't pin down a time frame for delivery.  Don't forget that WITP AE is taking up a bit of development resources too and it'll be released first.  Hell, I can wait especially if it's got what I want and it's not buggy.

Joe, had the same idea weeks ago (when the CF thread/inquiry started). Looked after on the Matrix site, and some disenchantment arose. Nothing changed meanwhile.

We´re asked to keep patient and curious!

It's hard to do both.
