And here are the dates for each year:



Yes, I have tested the game. It can go from 1840 to 1890; possibly even beyond those dates.

I believe 196 is capital of West Virginia ( only city) and 83, 84, 85 and 255 are the other provinces. If you want it in the game you have to add those yourself.

As I am interested in historical stimulation:  How does one prevent a side from building a building?  for example, the CSA was unable to increase its railroad capacity during the war.

By increasing the cost of the building massively?
