TEMPORARY 1.02B PATCH - 8/6/2007 7:36:57 PM

This Patch is a temporary patch and will be replaced by the 1.03 patch that is in the works, but is still aways from being released.

This Patch will correct the following issues:

East Front:
Number of minor oob errors.
Motorcycle/horse OPFire loop.
Icon2D is replaced and upgraded.
Weapon.pdt and unittext updated.

West Front:
Number of minor oob errors.
Motorcycle/horse OPFire loop.
Weapon.pdt and unittext updated.
US Army oob corrected
Captured 40mm AA corrected.

Rising Sun:
Number of minor oob errors.
Motorcycle/horse OPFire loop.
Weapon.pdt and unittext updated.


INSTRUCTIONS:
It seems like a lot, but it is very straight forward and simple.

Ensure that you have the 1.02 UPDATE installed by using the UPDATE button on your MCS menu, or by going to the following link:

http://www.matrixgames.com/games/downloads.asp?gid=318

Once that is done create a NEW FOLDER

Download the TEMPORARY 1.02B PATCH from here into your NEW FOLDER:

Once downloaded, browse to the NEW FOLDER

Right click on the zip file and select Winzip --> Extract to Here

Three folders will appear; East Front, West Front and Rising Sun.

Go into the East Front folder
Press CTRL + A (This selects all of the files)
Press CTRL + C (This will copy the files)

Browse to your Campaign Series installation
Click on the East Front folder
Press CTRL + V (This will paste the copied files into the East Front folder)
Press YES or YES TO ALL to replace existing files


Go into the West Front folder
Press CTRL + A (This selects all of the files)
Press CTRL + C (This will copy the files)

Browse to your Campaign Series installation
Click on the West Front folder
Press CTRL + V (This will paste the copied files into the West Front folder)
Press YES or YES TO ALL to replace existing files


Go into the Rising Sun folder
Press CTRL + A (This selects all of the files)
Press CTRL + C (This will copy the files)

Browse to your Campaign Series installation
Click on the Rising Sun folder
Press CTRL + V (This will paste the copied files into the Rising Sun folder)
Press YES or YES TO ALL to replace existing files

That is all!

Hi Jason,

I had sent you a personal email earlier regarding updates to the unitext's of several WF units along with some new BMP images I created along with George Smithson some time back. We are allready using some of the new stuff in the Matrix edition that I worked on. Are you intersted in what I have here. I believe it would be quite helpful in cleaning up some stuff and providing a more finished look to the game.

Jason, don't know if this was suppose to be addressed in this patch but regarding Dutch forces:

West Front
Battle of the Outposts

Problems with the F2 info screen.

The following Dutch units have no info or pic.:
Grenadier platoons
All officers
All HQ's

The following Dutch units have a pic but no info:
MG Platoon
Wagon
57mm Inf. Gun
47mm AT Gun
81mm Mortar

All of these issues remain unchanged.

Please help. I've re-installed Campaign Series into a new Vista 32bit pc. I've tried to install the 1.02B patch several times. I have patched to 1.02. I've even dragged each 1.02B files into the CS folders (EF, WS, & RS). Nothing seems to work.

I've successfully patched the game to 1.02. I wish to patch the game to 1.02B. I've installed all the files from the 1.02B patch into their respective folders (ie WF,EF, & RS). The EF exe application does not write over the old exe, therefore even though I've copied all the 1.02B files into the EF folder, when I run the game, runs as 1.02 and not 1.02B.

There won't be any indication of running 1.02B (it does not say in the ABOUT area), apart from knowing you copied over the zipped files.

When I look at the verson during the game is says 1.02. When the screen is scrolled I get white flashes, no hard attack values.

1.02 should, which needs to be installed first.

1.02B corrects a few order of battle issues.

Thanks for the bump, junk2drive. Unfortunately, the link to 1.02 now only has the 1.03 update. Bummer . Or am I missing something? The link to 1.02b seems fine but I think you have to have 1.02 installed first.

i did bring up the fact there has been 3 updates (user temp) updates in a month with the official not till later a 4th. Now with all these tempry fixes the question I have is what is going to be a:
permanent fix for the Vista bugs?

Display issues that stay with the desktop when a CTD happens (Olive Drab most of the time)
A memory issue that deal with the Conventional mem not ram?
the ever present lack of DCG support?
The disappearing ICONS on a 2d map when scrolling?
Phantom Arrows that stay with the display when the game ends a turn?
The armor facing issues when going against mortars?
the default menu on startup that will not freeze your machine when clicking update?
the gleaning out of unnecessary files that the program does not or never will use?
the map editor when choosing from inside the main program page?
the flashing white blocks on the screen with the editor?
the OOB's that lock up the OOB Editor particulary the russian, if it is in 1.03 then this fix will not happen for me because then the main, platoon and weapons files are encrytped, thus forcing me as a consume to stay where I am

these are just some of the issues
I hope they get addressed for the 1.02b version without the chokepoint of submitting units for incorporation

Vista issues are most probably the fault of Vista not the game itself, did you try to add the missing DirectX 9 dlls? Vista ships with DirectX 10 that is not 100% compatible with the previous version, often manually adding DX9 dlls fixes compatibility problems.
