My apologies for asking this on Matrix forums, but I frequent here and buy games from here - so I was hoping someone could help me...

Anyone know how to get HPS games OTHER than shipping from the US? I like the look of the squad battles - scale is right up my street. I live in the UK and, as much as I like strategy games, I'm not paying all that shipping etc...a straight download would be ideal.

Cheers

I live in the UK and with shipping NWS is very cheap indeed.

I paid about £23 I think.

I have Korea for trade.

NWS?

I don't fancy Korea, thx for the offer, though...I really just want the Vietnam one. Pity they don't do download.

The game is $49.99 - and shipping outside looks to be a whack! So maybe I'll have to leave it....unless anyone else has HPS Squad Battles:Vietnam to sell or trade?

Comes to $38.98 incl shipping.

Which comes to £21.90!

I have used duchet.com for years to supply HPS games. They are a uk based mail order company - prices are ok not brilliant but they are prompt to ship(using royal mail recorded delivery) and I have never had any problems with them.

I'd certainly recommend NWS, too. Very cheap, even with postage from the US, and excellent service... I have never had to wait more than a week for an order to arrive.

Thx for replies. Looks like NWS is going to be on my favourites list. Now to get SB:V without the wife knowing!

I had to wait 10 months on an order from NWS one time. I will never use them again. Don't tell me a game is going to be ready in March or April and then it's not ready until Decemeber. What a big lie that was to get preorder money in early.

Which game?

Such delays are the fault of the publisher, not retailers... who can only go on the information they are given. Did any other retailer ship in March or April?

Hertston has a point, ravinhood. If a game is advertised for pre-order, the retailers and outlets are at the behest of the developers and publishers. I'll bet there are a few people kicking themselves about pre-ordering S.T.A.L.K.E.R:Shadow of Chernobyl!

No, in fact there isn't a demo for any HPS game.

The good news, though, is that once you play one, you won't need a demo for any of them!

I'd consider Tour of Duty ahead of Vietnam, especially if you only intend to buy one SB title. The scenarios are a little better (IMHO) and offer some more variety, and there are campaigns too ('Vietnam' just has single scenarios).

On the subject of HPS games. Which game do you think has the best AI challenge? Also for the Talonsoft East Front II, West Front, and Rising Sun Gold, which of those 3 games has the best AI challenge?
