How would the removal of cold turns help Russia?

My only game as Russia I used winterized and it did help the last two winters.

apparently you can just turn the diplo on in a MP game even though default is off

the game starts with diplomacy off by default-and i never changed it

i have no diplomatic options in the MP game

yet my opponent has effectively managed diplo

something seems off?

it's weird- creating a MP game, i see no option to turn diplomacy on/off additionally in the game, i see no diplomatic actions available for me i'm assuming they'd be under the flag(war status) screen with the icons on the right, yet all of mine are disabled with every nation i have created a few MP...

i'm the allies, and have been playing a fairly non chalant game

somehow he has managed to diplomatically get Yugo to join the Axis

i had no idea this was possible
