RE: Patch out for those who are wavering

<t> "It's clearly patch season for Napoleonic fans as there was 3.04 for Campaigns On The Danube only a few days ago and with the sale still on that is well worth a few dollars to have a different take on Napoleonic wargames."<br/> <br/> A patch for Campaigns on the Danube???? I gave up on that game...

RE: KS Mod

OK, I'll bite...my only hesitation is the installation process...walk me through it and I'll give it a try.

LOS and fatigue

<t> The game looks interesting but after watching the long video I came away with two questions. First, from the firing positions of some of the Prussian lines in support and the artillery it appeared that they were both able to shoot without a clear line of sight to the target. In a couple of cases...

RE: Game Crash...

Just an aside, playing as CP I got to January 1916 before I stopped and during the course of the game a couple of times I had it crash, but exiting and restarting the game seemed to cure the problem...

Game Crash...

I am playing the Entente vs. AI and at the November 26, 1914 turn. As I process the turn I get a "Commander has stopped working" message. I restarted the program to no avail. Anyone else having the system crash?

RE: I've never seen this before...

<t> I invaded on the September 17th turn...it did not appear that the cities changed from German to Belgium control. At the end of the turn the message was "Belgium joins the CP" and then "Belgium surrenders", but on the next turn there were still Belgium hexs highlighted and if I entered any of the...

RE: I've never seen this before...

<r> Things were a little dicey for the first couple of turns after losing Antwerp but the AI must have gotten confused with so easy a time early on in Belgium...it subsequently adopted an "offense in the east" strategy, with the result as shown below. It's the November 26, 1914 turn and I've trapped...

RE: I've never seen this before...

<t> That makes sense...as the CP player when I accepted Russia's surrender there were no Russian allies on their soil so I never experienced the process....and I understand why the Germans, as the aggressors get to keep what they captured but why would the allies voluntarily withdraw from their alli...

RE: I've never seen this before...

<t> Thanks for the explanation...which I understand to a point...I get Belgium going neutral when production value goes to 0 and the issue of repatriation but I don't exactly get why the Germans get to keep the are they occupy. Not a big deal at this point I think I can adjust as necessary. Are ther...

I've never seen this before...

<r> Although I have played previous games as the Central Powers I thought I would give the Entente a try...I had just finished the September 3rd turn and my forces were deployed as shown...I had the Germans isolated in Antwerp, had landed a British unit near Calais and had another waiting to disemba...

RE: Thoughts on 1.60 beta patch

<t> Impressive...by August 1916 I hope to be at the same place...another oddity is the French deployment...they have now abandoned the Channel coast and for some unknown reason have deployed four of their last regular units on the Swiss border...the Italians are being rather uncharacteristically agg...

RE: Thoughts on 1.60 beta patch

<t> A couple quick impressions...I am playing as the Central powers and it is June 1915 and I am pushing on the western front, having taken Brussels and Antwerp. The revised naval sequence is different...the dreadnought's are tough, and the revised British troop availability is making itself felt, c...

RE: Scenario Requests

The scale of the battle would require multiple scenarios...you would also need a terrain feature that would represent the Turkish trenches, but it could be done.

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>I'd like to point out that loading a matchlock musket is not very complicated - although having a match does mean it is a bit more so than a flintlock due to the proximity of fire and gunpowder Do not be fooled by the long series of illustrations in contemporary works as the...

<t> As if the Matrix Slitherine marriage isn't problematic enough, for those who enjoy Osprey books they are the third player in this drama...the quality of their titles has declined markedly since they got into bed with Slitherine. RE: Residual Fire

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>In this case historic doesn't matter. That the game is fun and challenging matters more (at least to the devs and most of the players I've read) so I myself can give up this fatigue and morale for a more challenging game (not all wargames have to be historical, just the sett...
