RE: Size Comparison chart

Mobius,
+1 to Rush. Very nice chart. Some of those beasts were amazingly large - it is fun to see them side-by-side.

Will we see the Nissan Skyline in future updates as a usuable vehicle? [:D]

RE: [REL] Classic SL Hill 621

<t> J2D, I finally got around to downloading JSGME. Thanks for the reminder and the link on How-To. Thank-you also to Cougar_DK, who provided the step-by-step.<br/> <br/> Rick, I just played this out to a Marginal German victory. I'm not sure but I think I might have been hurting the AI morale-wise,...

RE: [REL] Classic SL Hill 621

<t> Rick,<br/> I used to use JSGME mod manager (or something similar) way back when I was modding Silent Hunter III but I had to get a new computer and lost most of all that, along with not remembering how to do it.<br/> <br/> How does one go about using JSGME mod manager and where is it found? Some...

RE: Hold the ridge

<t> Yeah, Rick, very nice. You teased us with this one a while back. [:D] I've been waiting patiently to see it re-emerge. Thanks for getting back to it. <br/> <br/> I'd love to see this baby come out as a battle after you fine-tune it. This was one of the more intense scenarios from SL and then ada...

+1 to the above.
I'm glad to see things are progressing. This is really an excellent game and has provided a lot of enjoyment for me, as well as others.

Thanks very much for the continued support.

RE: Tactical campaigns

<t> Wodin,<br/> I can say that I'd definitely get attached to certain units during my ASL days. It hurt to lose them over time, even if only in a scenario. In massive campaigns like Red Barricades you would have squads that performed extremely well and it was tough to lose them. Also with individual...

Officer Counters?

<t> This game looks really nice and I confess I'm not familiar with it, other than having read some about it after seeing the announcement. I am very familiar with board games though, having spent a great deal of time with Avalon Hill titles and especially ASL.<br/> <br/> Are individual officer coun...

<t> Yikes, this was brutal. I'm with Rick - I figured the boys would be able to score at least one of the Elephants. Man, a shut-out.<br/> <br/> Frankly I don't think the timing could be improved. We came at them from every direction. We even had infantry charging into the fray.<br/> <br/> I enjoyed...

RE: Semi-Interactive AAR: Elephant Hunt

<t> I think this has a very historical feel to it. If they were disabled by mines or track hits, the infantry closed with them and burned them and their crews.<br/> <br/> If they were still rampaging, well.....close and ram or hope your shot penetrates. And, you need overwhelming numbers to give the...

RE: Semi-Interactive AAR: Elephant Hunt

You are right about the intensity level.

We are pretty much at point-blank and still closing. Good use of the screen shots. We are riding right along on the glorious charge.

Eastern front action as expected.

<t> I'm thinking that the driver of that tank lagging badly from the 2TC may be over-enhancing the alleged damage to his tank and hopes to survive the encounter. Perhaps he managed to slip the transmission while nursing that baby forward and stripped some gears too. Hmm, where's a commissar when you...

<t> I was just playing the Ponyri scenario as the Germans versus AI.<br/> <br/> I discovered the best way to destroy Elephants. Simply drive them over mines! [:(] I lost 3 out of 4 to frigging mines. The fourth dueled momentarily with some SU-76 assault guns, destroying several but taking a catastro...

RE: Semi-Interactive AAR: Elephant Hunt

<r> MR, I think that works. If timed close, the elephants won't know which way to turn. Even if just a little off on the timing, if they turn to engage they'll be struck from flank or rear, as Yousername noted.<br/> <br/> If we hit quick, we still may have time to react to those suspected following ...

RE: Semi-Interactive AAR: Elephant Hunt

<t> I like it so far. Timing is going to be tricky. 1TC will have to engage the Elephants to hold their attention while 3TC and 2TC rush to flank. If they take too long, 1TC will be burning pretty quickly.<br/> <br/> We also need to be concerned that trailing elements may strike our flanking element...
