Re: Phoenix 25% Rule

The German AI's Capitol was on an island so it was lucky it was also a port. Was playing a 1 city start game.

Re: Phoenix 25% Rule

I have a related question. I think I have less than 25% water in my game. An enemy faction has a port city and is building ships and invading my territory. However, my faction does not have a port city and I seem to be unable to build shipyards to defend myself (or invade this pesky neighbor). Did y...

Re: AT Phoenix Version Open Beta v2.40.061 (29th Aug 2023)

Also noticed the resource label bug is still there. Haven't played in 6 months or so. I just noticed that I am using 300 oil every time I make an artillery attack. Using 4 Artillery or Heavy Artillery (my standard size arty unit) will cause 300 oil to be removed from my stockpile! The oil usage when...

Re: Ship overweight but actually not overweight

Probably related to the Refit Bug I reported back in early June that seems to have never been addressed. https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11965&t=396079 Opening a design for refit caused an increase in ship and machinery size that shouldn't have occurred. Pressing Refit Machine...

Refit bug

So I was trying to outfit one my CL's (San Francisco class) with central rangefinding and selected Open for Refit. Unfortunately the ship was now 59 tons overloaded so I couldn't add them. If I select Open Design instead it shows the ship has 161 tons of space available. When comparing screens it ap...

Re: crazy Air Transport Intercepts (still going on...)

Yeah, I've never understood why escorts have to meet the bombers/transports at a hex a hundred+ miles from the front instead of meeting them closer to possible intercept. Probably a limitation of the game engine.

Re: Bombur mod

I've always loved the detail in your mod. I tried enabling leaders and action cards but it doesn't seem to work. I get the button to create an HQ with a leader but the leader does not appear. Is there a coding reason they don't work with your mod? I may have missed an enable somewhere in master file.

What is your GPU%? Mine runs 80% while only about 15% CPU. Have NVIDIA 1660 SuperOverclock GPU.

It's an early wargame created by a Bronze-age Gary Grigsby. The game's been played for 4,000 years and still isn't over!

I think the main deciding point is whether you like games that last a few weeks or a few years.

RE: High cost road building through mountain

<t> Another factor on high cost of mountains is when changing terrain, you pay the cost of the more expensive terrain when going into that terrain and moving out of it. When building across a single mountain hex you pay the mountain cost going into the hex and again building out the other side even ...

Export/Import of Air Directives

<t> I couldn't find any hits on this so maybe I'm the first to suggest it. It would be very helpful to be able to export/import first turn air directives. After fooling with directives extensively to find the set that's "just right" I'd like to be able to use them in future games. Otherwise when a p...
