Re: Updating database of scen1 in ongoing pbem.

Well then I wouldn't be able to update the PBEM :P. I have seen references to it being possible and the ingame blurb "Add database changes to this official campaign?" indicates that there is some way to do so. You cannot edit a save game of any type. Only scenario files can be editied and...

Re: Divided squadron

I've just check the database. In this case the Det is renamed the 33rd RAAF sqn in Feb 42. The game prevents you form re-combining for this reason. They are also different aircraft.

Re: Divided squadron

As others have said. In theory yes, provided they are same type and HQ. There can also be some database errors. Note that some detachments will always remain so as the parent unit never enters play. Sometimes these can become full units, sometimes they are withdrawn, sometimes it's two or more years...

Odd tracker alerts

Any idea what this means. I can find no LCU without an HQ assigned.

No ac in pools. This is the pool at the start of the scenario, none; and you get less than one a day to fill out your groups.

Re: Question on navy search

I'll stick my neck out here and I have no proof what-so-ever with no intentions of testing it as it's would be a real time consuming exercise. I'm going on what is in the manual and numerous tests and observations others have carried out. Only the programmers know for sure as the exact algorithm has...

Re: Undocked unloading at Level 1 ports

That is covered in the unloading tables in the manual. IIRC unloading amphibiously and undocked is faster for Level 1 & 2 ports but better docked at Level 3 or more ports. And paradoxically, very heavy items like radars can often unload amphibiously undocked but can have problems if docked! I'm...

Re: Ship weapons database error

I think this thread is getting distracted. The original post was not about M/L themsleves but about none M/L ships carrying mines specifically a CM upgrading to an E and still retaining it's mine. This ship cannot form a M/L TF but it can be added to one and, as it's been point out out, cannot unloa...

Re: Ship weapons database error

When you put the ship into a non-mine laying task force, it should unload the mines. Even putting a mine layer in a non-mine laying task force will unload the mines. Fixed then. I posted without thinking clearly, the above is not a good idea all-round. It should only apply to none M/L ships that ca...

Re: So, the very hard AI is cheating, right?

A tip on the combat report. The in game report is a copy of a text file located in the save folder. I use it all the time. It has three advantages of the in game, you can post text and not a pic, it's text so you can edit it and you can read it and move around the game map. Of course the latter work...

Re: So, the very hard AI is cheating, right?

The AVG units (flying tigers) are some the best air units the Allies have during the early stages, there have been fighting since early 41 in China. easily on par with Japanese army units, plus aircraft (H81/P-40 or Hurri) are much better than the Oscars especially at the height you are using them.

Batch files are simply text files with a different extension (.bat) that allows windows to interprept what is in them as commands. To create one from scratch:- Create a raw txt file with notepad. Rename it *.bat. Windows will complain you are changing the extension. Ignore it. Right click on it and ...

Ship weapons database error

This ship upgraded from a CM but has still retained it's mines. Don't know if it's intentional but you can't form a minelaying TF with it on it's own but you can put it in a minelaying TF with proper minelayers.

Re: Can a veteran pilot improve an air group?

I'll go with another Alfred quote: Individual pilots within an airgroup do not impact on speed of learning. Unit leaders alone have some impact upon the operations of the unit. That might have been the case in 2011 but not now according to the rule section 16.3. p227. Read air war guide on Pilot Tr...
