AUS is very low on oil so I loaded up some tankers at Soerabaja with oil and it's on it's way to Geraldton where there is a rail line to Sydney for the oil to flow along on it's way to Melbourne and points east. temp.jpg Geraldton is a small port and will not be able to dock those tankers. The Yamato, Kongo, and friends came back. Some of the aircraft visited Port Moresby but I don't understand why some of the Vals dropped bombs at 10k feet. Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

TF115 is approaching Dutch Harbor where she will lay 40 mines for all the good they will do and then they will set off back to SFO. All that way for just 40 mines. Why expend that much effort for just 40 mines? It seemed like a good idea at the time I guess. temp.jpg ACMs are Minefield Tenders and ...

Hint: look at load costs for mines or torpedoes, then look at port sizes that can handle those.

For your Wake Is. operation, it's fine to LRCAP your transports, but if the Japanese find your CV, it will need a strong CAP too!

There's a Jap TF to the east of Singapore ( still ) and I've got my entire air fleet at Singapore concentrating on it and I'm going to attack it even though it's in a thunderstorm because I'm hoping to get lucky. I'm going to drop everybody down to 5K feet because of the weather. temp.jpg Do you ha...

Platoonist: Of course, if you notice your opponent is suddenly flying P-51 Mustangs in 1942 that might be a dead giveaway too.
Especially if your opponent is playing the Japanese side ... ;)

Anyone have any guesses about the ship at the right side of the first picture - the flat one with the puff of white smoke/steam over it? My understanding of Op Shoestring is that CV Enterprise was not embedded with the transports but in its own TF miles away.

TF504 is the troop transport headed to Wake followed by a CV which is followed my an AO group. The transports have another 38 hexes to go and it's making only 17 knots. temp.jpg Except for your AVD your transports have lots of fuel. You could set the fastest ones to do an unescorted full speed run ...

But ... the Kriegsmarine was not ready for the Norway invasion and suffered heavily trying to support it. Scharnhorst torpedoed by a DD (during the sinking of CV Glorious). Re: Divided squadron

They have different devices (aircraft) so they cannot combine. Sometimes the easiest thing to do is disband the Detachment, then the parent will be able to take the balance of its TOE.

Been there - doing that - here's my large Strategic Map. Note that the display of Enemy Units and Bases is ON. What the Japanese have left are unoccupied dot bases at Satawal Island and Lao Cai (N or Hanoi). The latter has an allied unit about to cross into the hex and take it. There is one Japanese...

Unless the Soviets have been activated into the war, other Allied ships will not be able to dock at Soviet bases, nor flights land there.

Re: sy = (a number)

Could be that you are trying to put too large a ship in the SY or so many ships that you exceed its capacity. That will mean that some ships receive no repair points and therefore do not repair. These ships are better off not assigned to the SY (have them pierside in port) but it might take three da...

That town is not on the Stock map so it looks like an oversight when that map was made - the base should be set as a Primary Air Base, not a Port.

CMF is Commonwealth Militia Force so you do not need to add Militia at the end of the CMF acronym. Australian units on home soil have CMF militia unless you let them upgrade to AIF squads (regular troops, better firepower in their TOE). AIF squads are in short supply at first so only let your front ...

I like the APD conversion also. I wished they would of put in the xAKL conversion also. I would do a few of those also. Are you talking about the banana boats? At least in DaBabes they have been included in the database. My guess is that because they were commercial conversions between wars and wer...
