RE: Distant Worlds 1.0.4 Public Beta Now Available

<r> hum, I can understand if the AI & game engine are calculating a specific value of a piece of technology, but...it's rather impossible (w/o cheating) to have that kind of cashflow (shown here for 3 million credits) at that stage of a game (year 2767).<br/> <br/> There needs to be a sub routin...

RE: Distant Worlds 1.0.4 Public Beta Now Available

actually yah, there was a glitch, could EXAMINE/INVESTIGATE, but after a reload of the save-game, it did worked (used a construction ship to get close, see if it'd repair, but gave me the INVESTIGATE option instead, which triggered ownership change.)

thanks overlordCW - I'd like to hear the "bossman's" Elliot feedback, since he made Distant Worlds and knows the code inside-out. [8D]

RE: a long time for game to load

mine takes about 20-25 seconds...but then my system is state of the tech [8D] if you're playing the biggest map, and you're in the game for a llloonnng time, loading a savegame takes longer. [:D]

RE: Allow Independent Races to become Empires.

actually it does work, i've seen it a few times already in my games (larger maps, in which i usually put 10 predefined/generated empires at start) alas they usually dont last too long vs. pirates or other hostile empires at their doorstep.

RE: 1.0.3 Exception....

actually there is a simpler solution for that problem (i had it too), but i fixed mine by deleting manually the "DistantWorlds.Controls.dll" and the "DistantWorlds.Types.dll" as they were an older version. No need to un-/re-install nor to reboot system.

RE: Latest Update Information

i found a causality with the crashes in connection with the level of detail of the background grafics.the higher the detail, the faster the crashes.
