RE: 1.80 beta issues

<t> Hi doomtrader,<br/> <br/> I have VLC media player installed on my PC. When I double-click on the 4 files in the data folder (intro, intro2, credits.avi and credits.ogg) they all work. I assume that credits.ogg is only a sound file. As I said, the game still runs fine, probably just some quirky e...

RE: WW2 games

<t> Yeah...Google works...but I was hoping for some human-filtered results to differentiate good from crap. 724,000 links is a lot to wade through.<br/> <br/> So perhaps there are some strategy browser games that people have actually played and enjoyed or have heard about? I am curious about the pop...

RE: WW2 games

<r> I don't know if the original post was a gimmick or not, but I am also interested in the question - are there any good strategy/war games that play in a <B><s></s>browser<e></e></B>?. So, client side stuff that you don't need to install. I realize that most browser games would lack depth, ...

RE: My Thread o' Stuff

Thanks gwgardner for the info.

Another thing - I had undeployed units prior to saving my game. When I loaded up the game to continue the undeployed units were gone. Minor thing but a bit irritating.

RE: Freeware Online Games of General Interest...

Ummmm...

I think that the original Home of the Underdogs is long since deceased (unfortunately) and the link you provided points to some junk.

Apparently there are two 'recreations' of HotU...but I'm not sure if I should put in links - easy to Google it though.

<r> Couple more things.<br/> <br/> Is there an easy way to remove games from my saved games list? <t> OK, thanks for the suggestions.<br/> <br/> I added the boardgame map from damastabongo and the counters from Agent S. I realize that these graphics mods may be derivatives of somebody else's work so whoever contributed I'd like to say "Thanks". Everything looks great and easy to distinguish now....

My Thread o' Stuff

<t> Hi,<br/> <br/> I received this game quite some time ago but for various reasons didn't get around to trying it out until the past few days.<br/> <br/> Anyhow, I am having a blast with it! It is quite fun. Like a true newb I am boldly trying to figure out how to play without bothering to look at ...

<r> Well, since I'm half-snapped and bored I will jump in here if you don't mind. I'm going to assume that we are choosing women out of some sort of dystopian past or future (my new rule). Thus, I have to choose Raquel Welch as Loana in <I><s></s>One Million Years B.C.<e></e></I> What a beaut...

Hasn't anybody mentioned The Final Countdown?&nbsp; Oh Kirk Douglas, if only you'd averted that whole Pearl Harbor thing when you had the chance!

<t> I'll give this thread a not-completely-gratuitous bump.<br/> <br/> I do not play AE. Played a bit of WITP but I don't have the patience for a game with this much logistical detail. I do enjoy the AARs though.<br/> <br/> Anyway, I was wondering if some WITP/AE aficionados might comment on the fol...

RE: Viewing .srf files?

<t> I think there is a thread about this somewhere on here...probably more than a year old though. If I recall correctly the .srf files are just image files, so they don't require any special software. However you do need to export them as bitmaps (.bmp) and then you can open them up and have a look...

My hobbyist programmer game - Contagion

<r> Hi,<br/> <br/> I've been playing PC games for many years and decided I should try to make one. I am not a computer programmer. But I have been working on a game in Game Maker, it is sort of a simplified program/language geared toward the hobbyist programmer. Anyway, I have been working on this g...

RE: Consideration of a Courage Rating

<t> Well, I'll take a shot at wading in on things I don't know about.&nbsp; This discussion of courage reminded me of a book I had to read a few years ago "The Anatomy of Courage" by Lord Moran.&nbsp; He was a British army doctor (this is all from my fuzzy memory so it is quite possible I wi...

CAW postmortem

<t> I think we are a little shy of the two year anniversary of the new CAW (Came out June 8, 2007). I acquired it on the first day it was out. I was unhappy with the game (thus my uh ... handle ... name ... whatever). However, I did stick with it for a while and must say I derived quite a bit of enj...
