RIP to the longest-serving royal consort in British history and one of Britain's most favorite and funny Male Royals

Somehow I would like to personally pay my respects to the Royal Family.
Married for 74 years, what an accomplishment, along with all of his other accomplishments.

RIP Prince Philip!

warspite1 -> RE: Prince Philip has died RIP (4/9/2021 12:38:28 PM)

RIP indeed [:(]

What a sad day. If anyone needs a definition of the word duty then they simply need to refer to HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh. [&o][&o]

Sad day for the country and for many countries of the Commonwealth for whom the Queen is head of state.

An even sadder day for the Queen and her family.

From Norwegian papers "Prince Philip exits life in his 100th year, the world is already a duller place"

True. They both set a great example in many ways, from WW2 to the present. Condolences and RIP.

Regards,

- Erik

The British Royal Family exemplifies the idea of duty, honour, and respect for tradition. The idea of manners, and the maintenance of respectable standards, also come to mind.

Yes there have been stumbles and scandals along the way, but that simply makes them human.

Rest In Peace Prince Philip.

Rest in peace, Prince Philip.

NBC ran an article with many photos about Prince Philip's life. It can be viewed here.

Greetings zakblood,
Sad to lose such a fine example of a man honor and duty bound to serve and set a fine example. May he rest in peace.

I guess you don't understand much about the RIP thread unwritten rules. You just broke most of them. That will make you a very unpopular fellow on these forums. (at least to me anyway) I don't like little minded fools who make statements such as yours.

I wouldn't waste and time on this Grognerd. Someone of that mindset isn't going to understand such subtleties. I've reported to Erik.

You are probably correct, thanks.

i saw the post earlier and didn't waste time with a response, just report it, RIP means respect the person who had died, respect is for everyone, no matter who or what they have or haven't done in there life, and personal opinions on any matter regarding the dead, can be thought of by all means, but not written, consider this friendly advice and i'm sure admin won't be so nice on the subject,...

Funny, I don't know why but I didn't think there was a reporting system in place, good to know.

And yet, the post is still there and it appears that he hasn't even gotten a slap on the wrist.

I suppose for a lot of people the truth hurts sometimes...lol. I guess if the sexual predator & pedophile Prince Andrew died, all of
you here would be falling over yourselves rushing to express sympathy over the loss of a great and noble man also.

I wasn't going to say anything, but clearly Matrix see nothing wrong in the hateful garbage spouted so....

Prince Philip put his life on the line in fighting the Nazis. To then be called a Nazi sympathiser is simply trolling.

As for never doing a day's graft, Prince Philip was working hard - every day - into his late 90's before actual ill-health (not just an age number) intervened.

To call someone who devoted so much time and energy to charity, to schemes to help the young, in the fight against fascism, and who worked so tirelessly for his country, a parasite. Well that says far more about the poster than it does about Prince Philip.

The Queen is the UK's (and many other countries) Head of State. Prince Philip was her husband and consort for over 70 years. I wonder what would happen if I made such unfounded, unwarranted and hateful comments about the wife of a current head of state - the US for example?

As said by others, this thread is about celebrating the life of Prince Philip, it is about respect, and to honour a life of service, devotion and duty. That it was allowed to be hijacked in that way is a pretty sad state of affairs.

Grognerd_INC -> RE: Prince Philip has died RIP (4/16/2021 7:47:20 AM)

Yep, it is a bit disappointing, maybe the community should stop doing RIP's. Obviously this fellow that hails from the PRC is just trying to inflame the thread as others have done to these type threads.
