Just finished Max Hastings' epic history of the war.
I'm wondering if there are other good histories of
the war. Or the best Vietnam books in general.

Depends on how much reading you'd like to do, or your areas of interest. There are many books of varying themes.

Anything in particular?

I've read just about all of the general histories of the war.
"Matterhorn" was a fantastic fictional account. Currently
reading Frank Snep's "Decent Interval" which is fantastic.

I suppose I'd be interested in a general history I haven't
come across and something akin to "Matterhorn"

BTW Bernard Fall's books on the French experience are must reads.

A bright shining lie
embers of war
10,000 days of thunder

Thanks Dox.
I've read a bright shining lie and embers of war.
I'll look for 10,000 days of thunder.

Street without Joy, aye. I also got tons of information about the French in Indochina on my blog. Feedback appreciated!
