When/why do aircraft go into reserve on an active airgroup? I noticed about half my Ju 52/m's went into reserve after ~4 missions.

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you post a pic.

I am guessing you mean reserve (as opposed to damaged or ready) aircraft rather than the whole airgroups goes to national reserve.

Reserve in that case means slightly damaged. It can fly away if the airbase gets overun but cannot be used in combat missions.

As well as getting that way from battles it can go that way operationally. The normal wear and tear/ weathering of aircraft even if just sitting on the tarmac will mean some go into reserve doing nothing or from just the occasional flight. They will get repaired and back to operationally status just like damaged aircraft do.

Transport aircraft are particularly prone to getting reserved. This is a deliberate feature to prevent them being OP in the game.

Transport groups go to the reserve after missions to prevent the players from constantly flying resupply missions and trying to game the system. Next turn they will be up to their strength and on proper readiness. This is WAD.

Thanks! Just couldn’t find it documented in manual anywhere.
