BrianG -> RE: turn 15 open (9/20/2019 11:50:59 AM)

I think my tank reinforcements in Tula area have been spotted.

You can also see my rr repair.

BrianG -> RE: turn 15 open (9/20/2019 11:53:26 AM)

south open.

Russians retreat.

I will seal pocket and try and take Rostov (a goal)

Fetterkrolle -> RE: turn 15 open (9/20/2019 5:54:17 PM)

I would stay away from Cherepovets. You want your infantry heading further south not east in that area. Soon you will take leningrad and you can try to use the finns to capture cherepovets.

Fetterkrolle -> RE: turn 15 open (9/20/2019 5:54:53 PM)

Sorry for dobbel comment, but could you post losses and oob?

BrianG -> turn 15 german actiuon (9/20/2019 8:41:03 PM)

Leningrad is taken head on and only against 1 defending division. I think Russian priorities have approached panic stage.

Well at least near Leningrad. He should have split his retreating forces. Half into a stronger Leningrad defense, the rest to fleeeeee.

Oh wait just noticed: And those darn PVO AA Regiments. lol

BrianG -> RE: turn 15 german actiuon (9/20/2019 8:43:35 PM)

Another loss in the Crimea.

I told you it's enter at your peril.

BrianG -> Just for the record (9/20/2019 8:45:11 PM)

I have no idea why my war photos keep coming split screen.

BrianG -> 15 final south (9/20/2019 8:47:47 PM)

To take Rostov I have to prepare to cross the river and take those other 3 towns I need to split my South Front HQ.

The river line does not look heavily built up. But my tanks are low on fuel.

I will combo with infantry and do a tank corp hq fuel up

BrianG -> RE: 15 final north (9/20/2019 8:50:42 PM)

North Final. Pocket set , now trying to move armor south to rr lines. and infantry.

Large pockets are taking time and effort to eliminate.

BrianG -> 15 tula area (9/20/2019 8:51:44 PM)

the Tula Breakthru

BrianG -> RE: 15 tula area final (9/20/2019 8:55:05 PM)

And Final Tula.

I'm still working on a name for this particular lasso of Tula.

Which had Armaments.

They tanks end up near as best possible the rr. Which is visible in photo.

Oh and another pocket.

BrianG -> 15 final (9/20/2019 8:56:43 PM)

AIR kia since

BrianG -> RE: 15 destroyed units (9/20/2019 8:58:12 PM)

How it looking?

BrianG -> RE: 15 destroyed ground (9/20/2019 8:58:49 PM)

ground kia since.

How does it look?

TunganNinja -> RE: Just for the record (9/20/2019 11:57:45 PM)

I have no idea why my war photos keep coming split screen.

Assuming that you are using the Windows Paint app...

When you paste into Paint, whether you scroll or click on the resulting image with the cursor - say to crop the image - when a new image is pasted into Paint, the new image will fill onto the screen starting from the horizontal line at the top of the window, even if it is not the actual top line of the image.

There are three solutions that I am aware of, which I use:

1. Don't scroll or click on the image that you paste

2. Scroll the Paint window back to the top of the image before each paste

2. If you want to be extra safe, then save the image and restart Paint before you paste a new image

There is possibly a better understanding to be found if you Google this question. But this is the method I use!

timmyab -> RE: turn 15 open (9/21/2019 2:14:21 AM)

Strong Axis position here. You know you've had a good Summer when supply becomes your main problem in the Autumn. It's also a good sign when you have to look up how to spell Cherepovets :)

Soviet losses don't look too bad at the moment but will be hit hard when those pockets are reduced.
There's still enough in the game to keep it interesting though especially with it being a 290 VP campaign. 1942 will be fascinating if Soviet morale holds.

BrianG -> 16 open (9/27/2019 12:28:28 AM)

I reseal the pocket. I show supply levels which are low and troops far from rr head

BrianG -> RE: 16 open (9/27/2019 12:29:40 AM)

This is where I was after a few German moves

BrianG -> RE: 16 moves (9/27/2019 12:30:49 AM)

Crimea attack.

Bitburg is clearly going to defend the Crimea.

BrianG -> RE: 16 moves (9/27/2019 12:32:00 AM)

Attacks over Major River.

I want ROSTOV!

BrianG -> RE: 16 moves (9/27/2019 12:34:25 AM)

Last attack in area is a loser.

Supplies are not cut To Rostov.

I have 1 more turn to take it before mud.

I guess it will be massive frontal attack on turn 17. Get the popcorn.

BrianG -> RE: 16 moves (9/27/2019 12:37:37 AM)

SOUTH final.

BrianG -> RE: 16 moves (9/27/2019 12:39:23 AM)

Tula final

You can see my rr repair. Actually not that far.

BrianG -> 16 strategy session (9/27/2019 12:42:46 AM)

This is my tank situation up north before moves:

So what should be , only 2 turns left clear, what shall we do?

Dangers , what can be gained. What can be lost?

Cherepovets, Yaroslava, north Moscow, full pincer attempt?

Retreat? Resupply?

timmyab -> RE: 16 strategy session (9/27/2019 9:26:36 AM)

Be careful pushing too far beyond your railhead. In the mud turns units beyond 100 MPs from rail will lose morale points fast.

chaos45 -> RE: 16 strategy session (9/27/2019 3:39:11 PM)

No retreat.

Your best bet is to keep kicking the soviets in the teeth as long as possible....then once blizzard hits you can slowly give soviet movement penalties plus blizzard means most their infantry cant even attack if it has to clear 1 enemy hex.

You will have some frost time to start digging in if you well some of the lagging infantry and be brought up to start entrenching your winter lines.

The more soviets you kill pre-blizzard the easier your winter will be.

Also I count something 55+ more soviet divisions still be to liquidated....which means since they are taking so long to die they will be useless experience wise in the winter as well.

Even more importantly, losing them after the start of October means they don't come back for free, right?

56ajax -> RE: 16 strategy session (9/28/2019 4:03:59 AM)

They come back for free if the Soviets do not have any Admin points left at the end of Soviet turn.

Dinglir -> RE: 16 strategy session (9/28/2019 5:42:14 AM)

Focus on causing casualties to the Soviets while maintaining your own strength for now.

At Rostov simply encircle the city, leaving it to starve to death during the mud and then take it come snow.

In the north, start reducing the pockets. No need for you to take more attrition damage than necessary.

Look at the fuel and supply situation at the front and figure out if you can encircle a few more Soviet units before the mud.

xhoel -> RE: 16 strategy session (9/28/2019 2:41:05 PM)

Will you go for Sevastopol in the snow turns?
