CAS in this game is frustrating. First, I set up BP's and order the helios in only to watch them linger around friendly space pondering life for ten minutes or more. By the time they actually arrive at their BP, the battle has shifted. CAS is better because they arrive in the time specified. However, I think there isn't enough control over where they attack. I mean you can place the triangle right over enemy vehicles and the pilots will hit whatever falls in line with their run. It would be nice if friendly units can mark a hostile position/vehicle for attack. Balance can be offset by increasing purchasing price.

Yeah you've got to try and predict the main route the enemy is going to use and where the main battle is likely to happen, it can be a bit hit and miss, I've had some missions where the helos have destroyed tank after tank and really helped me win the battle and other times where they hovered useless for the whole mission...

Also if you play in command character mode you can call for CAS, I've not tried this out yet, I will try it in my next campaign battle....

Any HQ unit can call on-map helicopters to its position.

Ok I didn't know that, I thought it was only the playable commander who could call the helos, thanks for the info 😎
