Unless there's been a change, I've never seen secondary damage done because of Rockets. Have not seen the units take any damage. Never seen the defender take a hit. I've had Rockets +3 pounding Leningrad in couple games. I'm talking about the Rockets which can only build two by Germany, can shoot long range.

Per guide:

Rocket Weapons – only Germany can research this category and deploy
Rocket units. It improves the Resource attack value and strike range values
for all Rockets, while also increasing the chance by 10% that a rocket attack
against a resource occupied by a defender will inflict a hit on that defending
unit. Note that Rocket’s effectiveness decreases with range.

While we're at it, how about doing Shore Bombardment damage to a supply 0 city, should the ground unit piece ever take damage? Don't see that happening, but the ships are getting popped, like the logic in the code is backwards?

I'll take a look into these.

I'm wrong about the port and ships. Just keep this thread to the rockets.

That's ok, I've experimented with both and it does work, but unlike with SC1 where rockets became wonder weapons against units, here we've really kept their damage potential to hitting resources rather than inflicting unit losses.

They might cause a strength point loss occasionally, but this isn't their forte.

What is the opinion about rockets fire on London? is it a bit gamey? [;)] Not every opponent likes house rules that's why I ask.

Playing with a friend it was easy to make house rules that was no Allied strategic bombing until early 1942 in SC Assault in Democracy as an example.

BillRunacre -> RE: Bug: Have never had Rockets do secondary unit damage (4/5/2019 2:10:34 PM)

I'm intrigued to know why it could potentially be gamey seeing as it was done in real life?

@Bill --- I totally understand what has happened in the past, Rockets became rather deadly to all units. But in this game, Rockets never do any damage to units, only resources. That is fine, but since I've played them in half dozen games against Human opponent, only thing they are good for is popping London (realistic) and closing an Allied port in specific invasions.

That's fine, just won't make them tempting enough to try. The expense of 200/each + tech = ~1000, not worth it against average or better opponent.

I can consider the cost, but wouldn't want to make them too cheap either.

I've always thought that wunderwaffen should be over-priced and over-hyped.

Rockets in London can be realistic and historical- probably mechanic is different from what I remember from SC Arsenal of Democracy- but problem is in Leningrad; I withdraw Russian units from lack of supply from multiple rockets fire. As I mention in multiplay balance thread Russian numbers very low..

BillRunacre -> RE: Bug: Have never had Rockets do secondary unit damage (4/10/2019 3:15:02 PM)

Good thought about Leningrad, that makes sense, and it's how I'd use them. I think given their price it's not necessarily gamey, and it's why I'm a bit cautious about reducing it.
