nikdav -> Fastov 1943 - released ! (8/12/2018 11:34:03 AM)

I just upload Fastov 1943 scenario and hope you like it.
http://www.vrdesigns.net/scenario.php?nr=281

In november 1943 the best german divisions led by the best german chain of command (Manstein, Raus, Balck, Manteuffel, Nehring,.......)were incapable to regain the initiative on the eastern front. The war was really lost !
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fastov 1943 v.1.0
4km Division/regimental level; 30 turns;
From 15 november to 15 december 1943.

After the loss of KIEV the german restored a frontline after loosing the two vital supply depots of FASTOV and ZHITOMIR.
On 15 november with many german divisions in heavy fights, Hitler dismiss General Hermann Hoth and placed General Erhard Raus to command 4th Panzer Army and appoint General Hermann Balck to command XLVIII Panzer Korp just redeployed toward Zhitomir and Fastov to stop the soviets.
Two strong Divisions from the West Front, the 1ss Leibstandarte led by General Theodor Wisch and the 1st Panzer led by General Walter Kruger were assigned to Balck with the order to stop the soviets and regain the initiative.
Raus 4th Panzer Army HQ is on BELAJA TSERKOV.
The LIX Korp led by General Kurt von der Chevallerie defend KOROSTEN.
On the center the XIII Korp led by General Alfred Hauffe hold the thin line Southwest of ZHITOMIR.
The VII Korp led by General Anton Dostler (from 30 november by General Eberhard Hell) defend the line south of FASTOV.

Looks and sounds great. Thank you for your hard work.

nikdav -> RE: Fastov 1943 (8/13/2018 4:04:17 PM)

Manstein's HQ was capable to rail transfer nearly a full division every turn!

Manstein can organize some Kampfgruppe playing the Emergency Unit card:

nikdav -> RE: Fastov 1943 (8/17/2018 3:39:59 PM)

I rename the KG Anton, and place the unit on the rail line....

...to help rescuing one regiment of 8th Panzer Division encircled...

The Emergency Unit Card work well but strangely don't use the PP points, i don't understand why.

Very impressive OOB. Truly. Personalizing the Divisions like you did really pays off!

best wishes,
Vic

nikdav -> RE: Fastov 1943 (9/6/2018 5:35:40 PM)

Oberst_Klink -> RE: Fastov 1943 (9/6/2018 6:36:34 PM)

Ciao Davide!

Helluva job! But I get the message, that I need DC community project 0.92, and I only can find 0.91e on Vic's website. Perhaps I am missing something?

Klink, Oberst

Oberst_Klink -> RE: Fastov 1943 (9/6/2018 7:41:54 PM)

Solved. Installed 0.91e and no message appears.

That is an Officer Card. Officer Cards do not use PP, these Officer Cards use Command Points of the officer that played them.

Best wishes,
Vic

Some recommended and related reading - A Thesis, 140+ pages about the Soviet's drive to the Dnjepr.

An easy fix... I'll go through the texts... No big deal. It's a community effort. Finally figured out the .CSV
export of tables etc.

Templer_12 -> RE: Fastov 1943 (9/11/2018 10:13:03 AM)

How, where can I find this sheet?
I might, which appeals quite nice to me, change some terms to German used way of writing, e.g. 4th Panzer Division becomes 4. Panzer-Division. [:)]

Oberst_Klink -> RE: Fastov 1943 (9/11/2018 10:53:04 AM)

The .CSV with the daily messages are attached. If you want to proofread the scenario description etc. just use the DC:CP editor features.

nikdav -> RE: Fastov 1943 (9/11/2018 5:22:52 PM)

Hi Templer, the scenario is a work in progress, many trooptypes description are wrong and we lack all the commanders "curriculum". I complete only Hermann Balck that is my example of what i hope to do soon with all commanders.
I'm working also on the luftwaffe OOB to add the air support.
Every suggestion or correction is welcomed!

Hey, Davide. We're all community here. We know it's work in progress. I am more than happy to go through the texts and I also got lotsa references for the OOB, etc. So, don't be shy to ask the Oberst; I am really good at research ;) +1 Your scenario is refreshing and really reminds me of Fire Brigade. Top job, Kamerad Italiener!

Klink, Oberst

Templer_12 -> RE: Fastov 1943 (9/11/2018 6:37:31 PM)

Ciao nikdav,

I was hoping this is a work in progress.
Like Oberst Klink, I also find the scenario refreshing.

There are no German defensive scenarios for the Decisive Campaign system.
I hope, once somebody will design a scenario on German soil. The last days of Berlin, or something.

Thank you nikdav for "stirring the pot" with this game scenario and getting others involved. Proof again that modding keeps old games alive, and this is a very good one.

Oberst_Klink -> RE: Fastov 1943 (9/14/2018 1:42:25 PM)

and...

Once I am confident about the basics, I'll try to create a Kiev '43 scenario; basically smaller than Fastov '43 and around the time the Soviets jumped over the Dnieper.

Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa is not an old game!

Games start aging on the day developers stop handle support, patches, updates.
