Will "Close Combat-The Bloody First" be release on Steam, like "Panther in the Fog"?

Josh

Most of the last titles if not all them were released for Steam. But at my opinion to buy a game from Slitherine, directly in Steam is a lose of possibilities. I prefer to buy it in Slitherine store and next to get the steam key for free. Why? because Slitherine most of the times need internet and I play sometimes without internet. The non-steam game does not need a lobby or other thing.

Marder -> RE: Steam Release?? (4/2/2018 7:48:26 AM)

Thats exactly why i always buy at matrix or slitherine.

bazza05 -> RE: Steam Release?? (4/3/2018 3:11:19 AM)

I've played every close combat game starting with A Bridge Too Far. I've never used Steam or an internet connection to play. If this is a requirement now, it'll be a game ender for me.

Nomada_Firefox -> RE: Steam Release?? (4/3/2018 6:39:18 AM)

I am sure how it will not be a requeriment.

mickxe5 -> RE: Steam Release?? (4/6/2018 2:24:15 PM)

The Steam client always tries to connect online but gives you the option to play offline.

GrizzlyKt -> RE: Steam Release?? (6/13/2018 3:30:05 PM)

stop giving the games to steam not everyone has internet

GrdAdmiral -> RE: Steam Release?? (6/13/2018 10:09:19 PM)

I feel like you guys misunderstand how steam works. Steam does connect to the internet, but the internet is not required to play. You can play steam games in off-line mode. I do this all the time when I travel. Think of steam as a giant online store with built in lobby if you want to meet ither people and play multiplayer. If you donít want to be online, you donít have to be.

Anachro -> RE: Steam Release?? (6/14/2018 2:41:12 AM)

you can switch steam to "offline mode" and play all your games without an internet connection.

I does not at 100% because you need a identity proof running at 100% and if your Steam was not connected to internet each some of time, it will not work. Other point, not all the games run at offline mode.

However, tell me how many people have not these days a phone and he can not use it for to link a computer to internet. The data consume without download anything is minimun.

These look as a joke from another universe. The 99% from the games are downloaded. If you get them in a disk, you will not need internet with perhaps a multiplayer activation or some like that. Anyway, your requirement look as some from other universe, everybody use Steam, Origin and another lobby.

Destraex -> RE: Steam Release?? (6/15/2018 1:16:42 PM)

Yes. steam please. So much easier update wise.

FroBodine -> RE: Steam Release?? (7/5/2018 1:29:16 PM)

Yup, Steam is a wonderful and convenient platform to purchase, store, and keep all your games updated.

DieLaughin -> RE: Steam Release?? (4/11/2019 3:07:05 PM)

Steam has a number of issues in this discussion. I have run games in offline mode but it is not a guarantee that it will work. Quite often it will want to verify the installation and that needs internet connection.

Slitherine has a better option, you can buy their games in their store and to get freely a steam key for your games. Better impossible.

With exception from download it, I can not imagine somebody with a so bad net line these days for to connect the steam lobby. I open the lobby many times with my phone line and if you do not download anything, it consumes very few.

But I have said up because Steam with Slitherines games is not a problem. They do not make exclusive releases from Steam. If they add the game in Steam, you will be able to buy the game in Slitherine store and to get a free steam key if you want.

In fact I can imagine how the unique reason adding the game in Steam is to get more players and I can not see this as a problem. More players always is good.

#1 You guys are bananas if you think you need an Internet connection to play a Steam game --> Offline Mode Exists.

#2 You guys are bananas if you think this game is actually getting released anytime soon.

bartholimew -> RE: Steam Release?? (8/6/2019 3:44:53 PM)

Not a particular issue for me. I think it profits matrix more to buy from them if that is the way it works.

So maybe then? /s

LeeChard -> RE: Steam Release?? (8/7/2019 10:30:43 AM)

I play steam games often without an online connection without any issues that I have noticed.
Steam has excellent user friendly mod system.

zasgard -> RE: Steam Release?? (8/9/2019 5:03:22 PM)

Anyone care to share how far along they think this game has to be released? [8D]

FroBodine -> RE: Steam Release?? (8/19/2019 8:44:26 PM)

Maybe sometime next year, God willin' and the river don't rise.

zasgard -> RE: Steam Release?? (8/21/2019 2:15:34 PM)

I've heard from a beta tester that they can't see it being more than a couple months out from being released (of course, it's only their opinion).

Aberdokki -> RE: Steam Release?? (8/22/2019 4:19:08 AM)

Maybe this won't be true of all you die hard supporters, but most people who don't like steam are because they don't want to pay for the game in the first place.

Personally steam is perfect, I don't buy from 3rd party distributors usually, including slitherin's website. I don't need 10 different places to log into to download the games I might want to play.

I bought all my old Close combat games from a store, physical copies, and all the rest from steam.

FroBodine -> RE: Steam Release?? (8/26/2019 2:33:28 AM)

If this game was just a month or two away from release, Matrix Games should be going crazy with advertising and marketing. The game that seemed to never be done appears to be almost done, and Matrix Games STILL aren't talking? It makes no sense.

Well, if I remember correctly, Matrix Games has been publishing these since Cross of Iron yet I have never seen any marketing campaigns for any of the versions. Or maybe I'm just blind because I follow and buy anyways
