AFIntel -> RE: My first pc game (1/28/2017 7:00:31 PM)

Mid 1980's on a Commodore 64. SSI's USAAF. I spent countless weekends deep into the night planning the aerial destruction of Germany.

Soon after that I bought SSI's Mech Brigade. I remember going to the public library to find all the books and magazines I could find about US and Soviet armor.

Admiral Graf Spee on Amstrad CPC 464. My father bought the computer in 1985, AGS and other free games were included in the pack. I had already played other Commodore and Spectrum games in the early 80s. [8|]

larrybush -> RE: My first pc game (5/3/2017 4:15:19 PM)

I think on my Atari or Commodore 130 (I forget) was a WWII game of the East Front, don't remember the name.
At work we played some sort of ASCII game about Star Trek.

Qwixt -> RE: My first pc game (5/3/2017 4:26:29 PM)

Excluding pong of course, my very first computer game that I played was on a TSR80? that my uncle owned, and it was a star trek game loaded from tape. The very first game I bought was Bard's Tale for C64. It was pivotal in my forming my "RPG's need to have automapping" rule [:D] I spent a lot of hours in that game, and had many hand drawn maps on graph paper.

First wargame - SSI's Knights of the Desert for C64

SSI's Knights of the Desert for the C64 was also my first wargame.

I recall playing Temple of Apshai, but I think Zork (a text based game) might have been first personal computer game. I had played some text based computer games at Univ of Illinois before either of those.

My first computer game was Age of Rifles. I still have a version of it on my computer now.

Gilmer -> RE: My first pc game (5/4/2017 11:40:05 AM)

I think my first game was Populous. Followed in very quick succession by a bunch of others such as Silent Service 2.

terje439 -> RE: My first pc game (5/5/2017 1:46:20 PM)

First game was Wizards of Wor on C64

Jim D Burns -> RE: My first pc game (5/5/2017 11:30:41 PM)

I think my first game was one of these:

War in Russia (1984 version) by Grigsby

Kamfgruppe by Grigsby

Chris Crawford's game about the cold war, can't remember the title. You spent funds either supporting or fighting insurgent groups in minor nations around the globe.

I guess it's possible I bought them all at once (though not likely as I was broke in those days), it's just so long ago I can no longer recall specific details enough to say for sure which was my first game on the PC.

Believe this was my first pc game, then later War in the Pacific.

Lobster -> RE: My first pc game (5/18/2017 8:35:57 PM)

Wargame Construction Set by SSI for Commodore 64 is the only one I can remember for certain. 1986. I had a Vic20 before that but I don't remember any of the titles.
