Great game! Really enjoying it so far. Is there any way to mod the corps commanders so that their corps number appears on their counter? It would make picking out their divisions a little easier.

The corps commanders use a generic commanders counter and only the names and the numbers showing their attributes are dynamic and change for each commander.

There is no specific counter for each commander and to get additional text onto the counter I guess it would have to be added to the name text, but some commanders' names are already too long to fit on the counter and I suspect that there is no room for additional text and any changes to the names would probably impact elsewhere in the game displays.

This is assumption and only the game developer could answer your suggestion definitively.

Thanks for the replies! Yeah, I thought that was case with the naming convention. I will shoulder on.

Another question: Is there a way to see if you've sent a corps commander orders? When leaders are a far away I can't always remember if I've sent them orders, as it may take over a day to reach them.

The corps commander info box (seen when you select a unit) shows the orders a corps commanders working under (note: these may not always be your orders, a corps commander might be reacting to events).

The corps commanders new orders don't show in his info panel until the messenger arrives with the order and you get a panel saying 'Davout has received orders'.

I keep a record of what I am doing in a Windows 'Notepad,' or 'Word', document that I have open in the background, it helps the memory.[:)]

Yes that`s the best way....to write down the orders you sent and when you get notified when they are received.
In fact write everything down like the date, Battle results casualties, supplies[:)]

Also remember that 1 unit Inf and Cav = 500 men, 1 unit Art = 4 or is it 8 cannon.

I don't try and write down everything, but it is sometimes useful to take PRT/SCN (Print screen) and copy the image into something like Windows 'Paint' - Victory Points Screen, Battle results etc., then I have an archive of the progress of a game.[:)]

Unless I have lost, then I just want to forget. [;)]

Trying to upload a pic to see if its view-able

End scenario Dec 5th 1805 as the French.

Rasputitsa -> RE: Modding Corps (12/15/2015 3:29:05 PM)

That works, if you click box 'Embed picture in post', then 'Click here to upload!' then the image will appear direct in the forum page.

Convincing victory, but how did you enjoy the way the game works?

Oh ok thanks, I`ll give that a try.
I played the original before and like the relaxed pace of CotD. it gives you the feeling of being the C in C trying to arrange the supply and so forth. what I really enjoy is the FOW and sending off your orders and hoping you get a message they have arrived, and even then you dont know if they will be carried out as commanded.....just like real life.
In my last game Murat seemed to do what he wanted and collected supplies after supplies lol

Bottom line A GREAT GAME!!...where you have to keep one step ahead of eventual events by being the C in C .

Once you have sent an order, if you go back and click on a commander, his info box will have updated to show the orders (objective, urgency, stance) that he has been given, even though those orders will not yet have reached him. So you can check what orders you have issued.
