Ronald Wendt -> New units in 1.07 (preview) (4/18/2015 6:43:49 AM)

Hi guys,

1.07 is evolving and new units are constantly added to Germany at War. Here is an overview of the upcoming ones.

This picture will be updated as the development progresses.

Hello,
What look like Panzergrenadiere or MechCorps in 3D ?
Thanks

the small images are taken from the HQ screen of Germany at War. The units are rendered by the game engine into what is called a UnitButton so what you see are the same 3d models you see on the map, just in an angle you cannot choose.

Hi,

a much more graspable answer is the image below. It shows the new hill and mountain textures in summer scenarios, two mechcorps, the German combat engineers and an Elite Panzergrenadier unit.

And here we got the same scene zoom out a bit and with counters.

Hi guys,

here is a new screenshot with the new Panzergrenadier units of v1.07 at the battle of Kursk (Zitadelle, southern sector) which is fought with historical OoB. Also you can see that tooltips now contain symbols to minimize texts for a better learning curve.

Hi guys,

here is a new wip screenshot. You see rescaled % partly reworked German infantry with officers for the regular and elite units. All have unique compositions of soldiers (mgs, handgranates etc.) for more variety. Mountains also got some tweaks.

Merci beaucoup !

For both your compliments and the link of your review. We did not know about this article and we are always interested in them, so if there is another author who wrote something about Germany at War, don't be shy and send us a link :-)

My French is what you might call rudimentary so it will take some time for me to understand every part. I tried translators but then many passages don't make real sense.

OnlyGloo -> RE: New units in 1.07 (preview) (6/2/2015 9:05:59 AM)

You're welcome ! :o)

Sorry I should have mention the review was written in French ;o)
My bad I also forgot to inform Matrix we published this review back in 2014 ! I'm not quite sure my English is superior to any translator available online but I tried to translate the resumé to give you an overview about the general tone of this article. So here it is :

If you are looking for a game stopgap, quick parties of about 30 minutes, then Panzer Corps should better suit your expectations. However, if your coping skills are slightly more flexible and if you want more of a challenge -and an expanded level of realism too- then Germany at War seems to clearly be the winner. Though Panzer Corps aesthetics and superior polish may be able to seduce you more, Germany at War offers more in terms of gameplay, realism and immersion but also, finally, of pure fun. If it was about a boxing match, I'd give the last winner to points !

Ronald Wendt -> RE: New units in 1.07 (preview) (6/2/2015 2:46:58 PM)

HI Gloo,

thanks a lot for your translation. I hope you will enjoy future versions of Germany at War as they will have certain things you missed in your review.

Regards,

OnlyGloo -> RE: New units in 1.07 (preview) (6/2/2015 6:31:42 PM)

Hi Ronald, are you talking about a sequel, about patched versions or a DLC, if I may ask ?

OnlyGloo -> RE: New units in 1.07 (preview) (6/2/2015 6:34:03 PM)

No matter what you publish, I will take the time to play it and write a few words about it, no doubt ! :o)

Currently we are working on a DLC and the next free update to v1.07 for Germany at War, the latter being neccessary for playing the DLC, as well as a new game you can find on our homepage.

Thats nice to hear! Phobetor has an email list for the press which is used to send out news from time to time. So if you like to be up to date i can add you to it. Just PM me here and i will take care of it.

Another thing, why do you use two different accounts ? It doesn't really matter, but i am a curious person. [;)]

Gloo -> RE: Hungarian tank production increases output (6/18/2015 8:13:20 PM)

Nice ! Quite uncommon vehicles ; the last time I played with these toys was in WinSPWW2 a few years ago [:)]

Ronald Wendt -> RE: Hungarian tank production increases output (6/20/2015 6:59:12 AM)

HI Gloo,

yes, we like those uncommon ones. We will add more and more over time and update by update, but still those are not all you get in 1.07. Some more are to come. [8D]

Regards,

terminator -> RE: Hungarian tank production increases output (6/21/2015 9:51:42 AM)

Hello,
If some more units are to come, It will still take some time before the patch(1.07) goes out ?
Thanks

Ronald Wendt -> RE: Hungarian tank production increases output (6/22/2015 5:53:58 AM)

Hello terminator,

the DLC we are working on ist strongly linked to the update 1.07. This means both have to be in a release-ready state. This might take while, yes.

But we will have beta trials for both so if you are eager to get your hands on all the new stuff, participating in them would speed things up for you.

Some more ideas for 1.07 or maybe later versions -

Elite 1943, something like Regular 1943
Any difference in stats between Regular 39 and Light Infantry a.k.a. Jager divisions?

Elite 1943
For the elite troops many were changed into Panzergrenadier units (or rather designated as such, some did only change the name not the OoB or TOE) some were strengthend by additional battalions in 1943. So far this was done by using the respective support units of GaW.
As to my knowledge units like the Freiwilligenverbände can be depicted with the 1941 version without being too far from the reality. If you have data that proofs otherwise, i am happy to learn and depict that.

Jäger/Light divisions

They had two regiments instead of three which can be simulated by placing them as a brigade while naming them division. This kind of compromise is also chosen for the Soviet Tank Corps which would need XXX as a marking but had the dimension of German Panzer divisions.
We could add extra values for them like Sicherungsdivisionen have if that is prefered.

Ronald Wendt -> Flamethrower attack (7/10/2015 12:18:11 PM)

Hi,

new weapons need new effects, so here is a first screen of the flamethrower attack (combat engineers):

Ronald Wendt -> Hungary needs AT weapons (7/17/2015 8:28:51 AM)

Hi guys,

realizing the Soviet tank threat Hungarian engineers work hard to develop counter measures. The Zrinyi II is the result and it suppports infantry as well as it fights the T-34 better than the Turan tanks.
