This new site may be of interest to people:

https://archive.org/details/softwarelibrary_msdos_games/v2

It's a web browser based emulator then runs many old DOS games. Of interest to war-gamers are that it has a ton of the old SSG games on it, as well as various other war-game classics (Harpoon for one.) It's still in beta, and I've found the games a little hit and miss to get working.

And I have checked the legitimacy of the site, and it's legal mumbo-jumbo appears to pass the smell test, and it was linked from a fairly major media site which was how I found it. But that said, I know a lot of the the publishers of those old games are now under the Matrix umbrella, so if there are any issues, well I mention it here just so they know... Just thought I should say.

Wow, many thanks for sharing this wonderful link [:)]

No matter what, the Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion series (and the Alone in The Dark I and II) are still the best games to me [8D]

Another site that has DOS games is gog.com (Good Old Games).

Well, the Harpoon they are still selling here still looks DOS-based [8|]

I've been able to get the mouse to work properly in various games, but only in full screen mode--- there's a toggles in the upper right corner of the screen for it, which took me a little while to find as it's kinda hidden by the beta button.

Grigsby's original Western Front is on here, for those of us who can't come up with the scratch for his 2014 update

(Pacific War and War in Russia are also present, but those are available from Matrix anyway)

Other strategy notables:

Empire Deluxe
Nuclear War
Master of Orion
the V for Victory series
Panzer Battles (sort of an 80s version of Command Ops)
Kampfgruppe
Machiavelli the Prince
Great Naval Battles 1939-1943
Great Naval Battles 2 Guadalcanal
Operation Europe (WW2 using the Koei Romance of the Three Kingdoms engine)
