If I would choose I would fire MG instead of laser. Much faster and cheaper way to do it. :D

It's only 10kw. Budget lasers. [:D]

They have them up to 30kw though: http://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/news/press-releases/2014/january/140128-mst-lockheed-martin-demonstrates-weapons-grade-high-power-fiber-laser.html

Stuffs moving along when it comes to the pew pew, the Excalibur laser system below is supposed to get up to 100kw + as testing goes on.

Looks intimidating too. [image]http://defense-update.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/excalibur_tn-300x268.jpg[/image]

If you want to read up on the various types of weaponized lasers and ideas on how they plan to use them, you can get a cup of coffee and read up on the paper Northrup Grumman has here:

http://www.northropgrumman.com/AboutUs/AnalysisCenter/Documents/pdfs/Operational_Implications_of_La.pdf

Seems like they want 100kW as a minimum for usable weapon effectiveness.
