Hi! This is a new version of the planning map (Op. Karte). Reworked mostly in Caucasus and Woronesh area and some more historical borders and naming of territories. Hi! In a week I plan to have finished my work with the latest planning map. Its updated with nearly all important(?)[&:] geographical names from 3 German Operationskarten. Dated -42-43.Its of course difficult to choose from a lot of names but size and historical interest are two major goals. Other are names along rail lines. The negative thing is that the names are not into the game engine. Some names are changed and then they are not similar to the names in the game. Of corse no railway hexes or vegetation types have been changed. Here is a look at The Baltics. The "a" is for a hasty attack. ( Big A for planned attack). goranw, From an historical interpretation perspective, your map gets better and better. Lots of little details that add to the game and make it "feel" correct. Thanks!

Hi! New version of the "planning map". In reality naming from ; Operationskarte Russland 1+2 -42 Operationskarte Ost Blatt2 -45 Übersichtskarte Finnland -41 Übersichtskarte Ostblatt -41 Mil. Geo railway maps -41 -41 Some changes of coast-lines. Interior borders in Germany and SSR. No changes ,of course, that influence game play. EDIT: Sorry my fault, not corrected: Linz has to be Passau, according to its positionof Donau and Inn..

No worries, I will dig into it and will check for further "errors" and report. But this map is so overwealming, that it is very diffcult. The river Niesse has to be Neisse. Kottbus on 13/63 is in Germany regulary spelled Cottbus Prenslau on 12/52 has to be Prenzlau Elberswalde on 12/55 has to be Eberswalde... But one can see that most mistakes are on the original map... Nevertheless I keep going and eventually making a thread on th emain section about the original map Thx for Your effort.

Many thanks for this highly detailed work, it's a joy finally spotting these locations which have been mentioned in print in numerous books, unfortunately the books did'nt have maps of this quality. Begger's can't be chooser's and I'm so grateful that you have made this available to your fellow wargamers. But I would so like to have a hexes version but maybe someone will have the ability to overlay these with a hex gid. Again thanks for the time and effort spent producing the map.

This map looks great. However, I am really stupid when it comes to adding mods to the game. I downloaded the map and put in the WITE folder - after renaming the original version. I loaded up the game to check out the map but it was the same generic map. I obviously have screwed up somewhere - any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Then unzip it to the same place. Go to the folder where you have the game. Click. Go to the folder Dat. Click. Go to the folder Art. Click. Rename the origin file zoom2_nogrid, ex by adding reserve- Keep it. Finally move the newly uploaded file from your desktop into the Art folder. Start the game. ( Choose the nonhex version.) goran, If you care to hear a suggestion for your next version of this great map mod, how about color coding the labels for cities that are not "game-supported". Just a thought... Colour coded the ingame cities and towns with a red dot. Added names are still black with a black dot. Headpurpose is still to resemble the original German Operationskarten. That means that all names are Germanized. In a few cases I have changed the name to another town since it differs totally from the game map.
