With all the extra ship types in AE, did the US Navy ice cream ship make it in? [:'(]

You know the Navy has those white uniforms to ensure when they spill the vanilla it doesn't show.
The Army are a bunch of slobs and will eat anything so they adopted the BDU uniforms to hide almost everything.

Army retired.

Too bad ships can't be captured, a floating ice cream factory would be a big morale boost for the IJN in 1944. [:D]

well, it would be difficult to assign a DL increase for the hex with the ice cream ship and the accompanying music..."Fur Elise", increase 1, "Greensleeves" increase 2...

hey, i'm ex-navy too, Don! but us brown shoes based on land didn't care too much if ice cream ships were around...we just walked to the PX or out the gate for ice cream and other little luxuries... [;)]

You boys laugh but one night after I got off watch I went down to the mess decks to see what they had for mid-rats’ and they were serving steak, lobster and ice cream.

Nope, its the rating badge for a Navy Missile Technician. It is defined as a missile in flight, passing through a representation of an expanding rod warhead. In the fleet, the similarity between the symbol and characterizations of male and female gender specific organs is noted. It is called "penis and vagina", but in vernacular.

As to long hair, I'd be happy if I had any left at all.

I used to really enjoy midnite rats down on the flight line during my trip to the sandbox just after the first gulf war. We would shut down the shop and head down to the flight line chow hall as a flight. Anyone else ever have powdered milk ice cream? It's unique to say the least...

Well, as the original author, it was intended as a reference to the movie, which is all I've seen. I am aware of both the book and the play, but have experienced neither. The play apparently takes place entirely in the context of the court-martial, so all you know of the events is what is said in testimony. That'd be interesting.
