Darojax Soviet Unit Insignia Addon v1.11

v1.11: 3088 insignias of Soviet High Level and Air Commands, Combined Armies, Tank units, Cavalry units, Guards and Regular Rifle Corps and Divisions, Airborne Brigades and HQs, Naval Infantry Brigades and Battalions, Ski brigades and battalions, NKVD Troops, Railroad Engineer and Engineer-Sapper units.

v1.11 Patch notes:
- Added 222 new insignias for Rifle Corps, Guards Rifle Divisions, Guards Rifle Corps
- Polish Rifle Division names changed to Polish Infantry Division


New for v1.11


For all the insignias a golden/yellow symbol normally (but not always) indicate corps, silver/white division/brigade, blue regiment/battalion. Yellow text means the unit has a higher base morale than regular units, regular units have white text. Guards units will have a yellow outline, yellow name and the Guards insignia in the upper right corner.

Some units have Order awards added to their insignia if they were awarded before the start-date of the Grand Campaign. If you notice major awards missing from some insignia, feel free to let me know.

The Soviet side can create new units, these units are not present in the editor most of the time. Because of this there may be some insignias missing due to oversight. PM if noticed.

INSTALLATION: Just unpack the archive and drop the contents inside into your main Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2 install folder, overwrite if asked (the original 18 insignias are included in a backup folder named 'original').

Unfortunately, at least some insignias of the post-war period:

- 208th mechanized Division, 60thTank Division, 11th Guards Tank Corps, 10th Airborne Brigade - all of them are from the 70s...

- Kiev Military District insignia is from post-Soviet period (after 1991).

And all insignias in the shape of a "shield" (like 208th mechanized Division) appeared in the Soviet Army after 1969.

Unfortunately, at least some insignias of the post-war period:

Yeah, the shield insignias seem to display a T-62 tank.

Sorry for the multiple posts.

The insignias show up too big. Not sure if this is a scaling issue (I am using the latest Beta with 125% scaling).

Yeah, that's a beta scaling thing, pretty sure, in any case not a problem for the stable release. May wait for scaling to be stable released before making changes on that one. May just revert all insignias to the 100x100, which is afterall the original intend insignia size.

Alright, based on feedback I will resize the insignia to 100x100 size. Work is also underway to replace the historically inaccurate ones. It will take some time so I'll probably release the new insignias in stages; the regular Rifle and Tank units (corps, divisions, brigades, battalions etc) should be finished for release soon.

Sure. Rest assured work on this is progressing, but I want to make it right, and it takes a lot of time to do all these units.

I can share with you a small batch of 66 high level insignia that have been entirely completed, not much, better than nothing . Not entirely sure if all of them are historically accurate (some Military Districts), let me know if you are certain they are not, and I will modify. Size is now 100x100 pixels and should look correct everywhere ingame.

All of Military District insignias without red star but with a double-headed eagle are still from post-soviet period.
These are such MD insignias as Arkhangelsk, Leningrad, Kharkov, Kronstadt, Notrh Caucasus

By the way right now I could not find in web the insignias of Military Districts from 40s. Perhaps they did not exist...
