Scenario Editor Map making

Post by Jagger2002 »

I noticed the game comes with a scenario editor. Does this include the ability for us to make brand new maps?

Hi Jagger2002

No, the maps are all custom. We will look to add more maps or variations as we do future updates.

Being able to create scenarios without the ability to create maps is not good news.

An expert answers you.[8D]
Each map can accommodate several different scenarios without problem, moreover the maps are modifiable.

The problem is that maps get stale. Plus people like to make maps.

The maps are moddifiable?...what does that mean?
Each map being able to...accommodate several different scenarios is not the way the editor is being advertised.

Not quite the answer I was seeking from a self proclaimed expert.[:)]

Someone asking questions is that he did not understand.
If he did not understand it is that he is not smart enough to understand
If he is not smart enough why loses his time explaining

The reasons why folks ask questions before spending their money on a product should be obvious.
When 'experts' (self proclaimed that is) attempt to answer said questions that vary from what is advertised, well...that certainly clears things up in one area.
Particularly when those answers are followed up with insults.

Perhaps one of the developers would be thoughtful enough to clear up exactly what can be edited with maps.

Came here to find out about this.

The only parts of the map that seem to be editable are adding defensive fortifications or similar.
I too would like the ability to edit and customize maps.

I don't know if it is a design limitation or a copyright concern (bringing in scenarios from other tactical games - that doesn't seem to be an issue with other Matrix tactical games like TotH or BA2) but the community seems to be in agreement that map editing is what we want. [;)]

As per the manual, one can add additional objects to themap such as Bunkers, trenches andbarbed wire.

Rico's expertise is that he's a scen designer on this title.

The advertisement says "An extremely intuitive built-in scenario editor allows you to build and play your own scenarios either against the AI or against your friends. Pick a map, set the objective,(...)".

Have you seen it advertised differently, Eddie?

I was asking as a customer/supporter (which, btw, I am purchasing as we speak).
When I read that a game of this genre boasts;
"An extremely intuitive built-in scenario editor allows you to build and play your own scenarios either against the AI or against your friends." & "The scenario editor gives you ALL the tools to create custom, unlimited different challenges."

& offers no map editor or even random maps, I was/am extremely...disappointed.
Here is hoping. [:)]
