BTSL American Adventures? Deaniks(J) vs Runnersan(A)

Post by deaniks »

Hi, folks back at it again with Runnersan.
So too start I modified BTSL a tad bit.
Changes
Refineries produce supplies, and the Rita 1 has bin nerfed too have 27 max range and a service ability of 5 and the Rita 2 was deleted completely

House Rules
Max fighter altitude 20K in 41-42, 25K in 43, 35K onwards

1st turn: Japan – cannot attack the west coast, otherwise he is free to do as he wishes

1st turn: Allies - air and LCUs remain "as is" without any change done by Allied player. Cannot create new TFs or change TF composition;
No carrier-vs-carrier battles allowed for the first 3 turns

PP paid for transfer continental units across borders with one exception: Thai units can go to Burma, Indochina or Malaysia and any units may enter 3hex's inside said territory

No 4E bombers below 10k on naval missions.

Para units can attack just one target at the time – if the para unit split, it must be united in one base first before another attack.

Troops can be unloaded only in dots/bases (same for para)

Squadron resizing limit: 45 planes

50 planes/target only at night for the entire war

Only submarine designed FPs on Japanese subs

No intentional creation of fragments. fragments should not be used operationally and shall be reunited with parent as expeditiously as possible. NOTE: dividing a unit in 3 (A/ B/ C) is OK

No strategic bombing of china

so as I send my second turn to my opponent here are my plans for the entire game I'm invading Hawaii for sure as of Now Midway, Johnston, and Lihue have bin invaded with a significate Japanese force. Midway and Lihue still remain untaken i hope turn 3 present these base to me.

With that in mind though the Americans still present a significant threat to my landing force's. KB will be set to Cap and naval targeting as I suspect a large portion of the American Airforce and navy will be thrown at my this upcoming turn.

Close to wake is Another two invasion force's one Hilo and Wake if no significate threat show's it self I suspect the invasion of Hilo within the next week or two.

now my invasion force for Pearl it self should consist of 4 Naval Assault Div's, 4 Infantry Div's, 3 Brigade's, and a bunch of support element's

But once Hawaii falls where should I go from there Continue on to American invade Alaska or back track to India and invade there not to sure yet open for anything at this moment

With no significant reinforcement's going to the DEI anytime soon day one Mersing along with a day one Palembang was seen as a priority in the Japanese command now with my Fuel secured and a large amount of fighters flying in the next day to deter and bombers I should be fine hopefully

December 8th
The day after Pearl saw major action at Lihue. Several American taskforce's at night tried disrupting the Amphibious landings most of my ships were able to thwart these action for a heavy toll to the allies were a CA,CL and several DD's were sunk for no casualties later that day KB launched strikes against the taskforce was severally battered by air defense but was able to damage or destroy the rest of the taskforce. this day also saw some Buffalos from Midway hit several cargo ships damaging or destroying them with some PT boats near Midway landing a hit on a DMS sinking her.

Near Palembang the Tanker's that were left in port were found and engaged with most being severally damaged so far reports claim at least one sunk

Major sweeps happened over Singapore, and Manilla to pave the way's for my bomber's.

last note Force Z was also hit by Betty bomber's POW and Renown were both hit with POW getting one torp and Renown getting two.

Bases Captured: Makin, Guam, Palembang, Kota Bharu, Mersing, and Midway

December 9th

As the night started PT boat's guarding wake were engaged and dispersed with landing happening.

A Cruiser taskforce in DEI engaged Force Z for only minor damage to all ship though Renown already suffering 2 Torp hit's received 7 shell hit's She might have sank but highly doubt it.

The morning start off with Sweep's and Betty's engaging fleeing ships from Philippines the afternoon phase didn't see to much action

Base Captured: Wake

December 10th

At Night near Lihue a small DD taskforce broke through to my carrier's landing one shill hit on the Shokaku and Zuikaku only minor damage was done.
Near San Diego I-72 Spotted a Carrier went in and landed a lucky shoot Saratoga was torped she will be out for a few month's I hope.
Several more time's that night the same DD taskforce then Engaged my smaller taskforce's suffering heavy damage to the DDs.

with that the air Phases brought nothing much more sweeps and allied bomber's trying to damage a few of my ships with little to no effect.

Image

Image

December 11th

Night saw some Minor engagement's sinking a CM, Several PT boat's and a SS sunk an AP

another minor engagement was started in the day sinking an AS.
The air phase saw sweep's over Pearl, with a bombing raid which didn't go terrible but should have waited another few day's to reduce there air some more otherwise more Bombing raid in other place's allied bomber's still trying to hit ships and Japanese bomber's successfully hitting there's

Bases Captured: Miri, and Brunei

Image

Image

December 12th

Night saw Shokaku getting hit by a minor luckily only minor damage was inflicted with only 4 of it Major Then a DD and CS Adatara were also hit by mine's these two ships are heading back to Japan for dock time.

Minilla Saw the first major air raid since the day of the war severally damaging the air base putting it out of action. More sweep's of Pearl soon I should be able to start bombing the Facilitys.
Also Patrol craft from Pearl were shipping in new troops to Lihue sadly for my opponent KB decimated his Patrol fleet around 30 patrol craft were shoot down and so far if my number's are correct around 1/3rd of the American patrol craft should be destroyed

Bases Captured: Kweiteh

December 13th

the combat report got erased and I was not willing to rewatch it so I'll just post the details. Also the Japanese ships that were sunk were from Previous bombing's through out this war.

Hey guys, sorry for not posting anything this past month. I finished up with Finials then went on a trip and after some recent success I was encouraged to post about it so I will.
Let's do a quick recap of what's happened these past few months.

the rest of December was uneventful.

January saw the invasion of the Philippines with 3 div's and a Brigade, and the occupation of most Hawaiian except Pearl and the capture of Rabaul.

February has bin a big month so far I’ve finally decided to go for India soon KB has bin raiding Darwin where at least 6 CL’s are located in port Singapore was captured on the 15th I believe with Pearl falling on the 25th but with the Capture of pearl this is the list of destroyed unit's

Image

at least 2 Div's were destroyed.

this brings me pretty much up to date on the curtain situation of the game. my plan's for next month are Aleutian invasion with Mini-KB and an invasion of India with KB

here's some picture of the curtain situation of the map as of 2/25/1942

Hey everyone,
Just getting back from my trip and still kind of jet lagged and not fully ready to commit to a day by day AAR as I was doing before just wanted to give an overall plan for my ambitions for the month's to come.

Image

So here's a list of what unit's are where I'll give an idea where each one will be sent.
Pacific.
Pearl the Assault Div's the 2 brigade's and one land Div will stay behind for invasion of Coal harbor to bomb the west coast. the remanding 2 land div's will be sent to India. The 1st Kure along with the 16th Div will help in the invasion of Port Moresby and clean up around there.

Korea
1st Div might be a strategic reserve as I need to send transport's to get it and not sure where it's needed at the moment

Philippines will stay the same

DEI/Burma

2nd Div and 55th div will commence the invasion of Java which should happen in the next few day's then 4th Rgt will help with clean up. 18th and 5th will invade Port Blair then Jump to Diamond Harbor or Chittagong not sure which one exactly yet will depend on what force composition looks like. 21st Bde, 4th Div, and Imperial Div will help with the invasion of India. 1st Para Div not sure where to move yet most likley will be useful in India for cutting rail line's.

Here's another small update tomorrow I'll hopefully go back to everyday update's.

March 17th

This month so far has bin very heated invasion's spanning from the Aleutian's all the way to India have or will accrue this month.

Let's start of with India first of Akagi was torpedoed in the Malacca strait and was sent to Singapore for some dock time, after that KB supported the invasion of Port Blair where the 46th Indian brigade, and 27th Australian Brigade defend the Island and were destroyed in one attack by 5th, and 18th Div as these div's rested and loaded back on to transport's KB started sweep's over Calcutta losing around 30 zero's for the 50 to 60 or fighter's stationed there gaining me air supremacy in India. Port's where then bombed today since Calcutta has around 50 ship's docked while Diamond harbor has 20 ships docked this will be a great opportunity hopefully sink a decent portion of the allies cargo fleet in the area.

On to Burma where Rangoon was recently captured with minimal destruction to the facilities there.

Now DEI where also Soerabaja has just fallen to me with a prize of two Dutch submarine's being scuttled a nice prize and good riddance to those bastard's. Also near the the British carrier's tried todo a raid on Babeldaob while my carrier's where in other place's 2 ships were hit in port but luckily most of his strike package was destroyed this mark's twice now where the British carrier's were devastated by lossing a sizable portion of his strike and all those nice pilot's.

China

Image

Then North Pacific

Amchitka invasion goes off with out a hitch Junyo and Shokaku protecting the north force gaining air supremacy while my 4 CVL's protect the southern flank kind of try and cut off retreat to any ships fleeing but my opponent had other plan's Yorktown and Saratoga where sailing to a point between Kurile's and the Aleutians from what my opponent said to catch any transport's ships off guard sadly for him he ran into my 4 CVL's which don't pack a mighty punch still did magnificent Saratoga war torped and 90 percent of his strike package was decimated by my cap around 60 to 70 dive bomber's were destroyed that day no American torped bomber's launched sadly as if they did his whole carrier force might have bin decimated at least air wise with really no where to go I thought he might run to air cover at Adak but didn't and got away at least they will be out for a few month's as one need's to repair and both of them need to train and replenish air squad's
