World History (A Global Domination v3 AAR)
This is the beginning of an AAR for the mod/scenario/game for Advanced Tactics Gold, called Global Domination 1938 v3 (or GD1938v3 for short). We are playing the 105a version, and the game started a few turns ago.
The main characters are:
Germany & Italy:
- Python Magus
Japan:
- Larry Burstyn
USSR:
- Ernieschwitz (writing)
France & Britain:
- Cpdeyoung
USA:
- Breeze
China:
- Bombur
The format, for me anyway, is going to be pages in what might be considered a journal/history book. We are about to start volume one:

RE: World History (A Global Domination v3 AAR)
It is four turns in, and we have the games first "action", as Germany annexes Czechoslovakia. This has been done by a card that allows Germany to take a chance... either get Czechoslovakia by threatening it with war, or have them refuse, and then having the choice to follow through with the attack, or admitting they were just bluffing. The last option would mean they would lose face in the international commmunity, and lose morale, among their troops. Not a good thing, in other words. But Germany succeeded with their gamble. Czechoslovakia fell... This is how the "History of the World" recounts it.

RE: World History (A Global Domination v3 AAR)
Germany was not expecting to get to the fall so quickly. Negotiations with Austria and Hungary, though fruitful, have a long way to go. The Germany economy is still small, and the army barely different to that of the start of the year. Germany of course seeks peace, inspired by our noble Angle and Saxon cousins: A Pax Germania if you will. Will the French put away their archaic war mongering ways and join Germany in building a peaceful, united Europe?

The United States is watching all these events from afar. I am deeply concerned about Czechoslovakia falling to Germany. I will continue to watch these events.

Still turn 4 (april 1938).
Breeze (Astroblues) informed me that he had played the Moral Embargo card, which will slowly reduce the amount of trade that Japan gets from the USA. I thought it fitting to put it into some more pages. On the subject of pages... I lost the original book pages grafic, and had to make another. So this installment and all future ones will look like this one, and not like the previous one.

Having seen the success of the German move to threaten Czechoslovakia, the Soviets did not want to be outdone, so they threatened the Baltic Countries.

This turn there was relative peace. That is no major events, like the taking over of countries, or cities falling in China happened. However it seems that the Spanish Civil War may be coming to an end. Republican forces are almost outnumbered 2:1, and that usually spells an end to it. The Germans have been investing heavily in the Civil War, while the Soviets have not.

Over the last couple of turns France has used it's engineers to build an extension of the Maginot Line all the way to the sea. While this line is not made of Forts, but fortifications, which are easier to deal with, I would feel hesitant about attacking them.

This turn, turn 7, the Soviet Union (me), decided to threaten the Finns. They would give me the Mannerheim line if I succeed, and I'd go to war if I didn't. Finland is important to me. Well, I succeeded, and the Finns gave me their fortifications near Leningrad. I occupied them, and then promptly declared war on them, ... things are going well in the north, rapid advances, against no resistance... always nice! Along the Southern Coast, not much action, just shelling and bombardment. There was a fighter skirmish, which the Finns won decisively.

Germany saw a disturbing warmongering article in Pravda about their factory building. Germany reserves the right o build factories to give its Aryan population the dignity of work and to promote peace. As a sign of My Hitler's passion for peace, he has invited photographers to inspect his factory!

Turn 8: The Finns seem to be pulling back to positions that are more easily defensible. This means that the Soviets are advancing very rapidly into the Finnish forests. There is a good chance that the Finns soon will be fighting for their Capital. In China the IJA has taken it's first city from the Chinese: Chengchow.

It is now turn 8, and not much has happened in Europe. All parties are building up. It seems the Axis and the Allies have both chosen to stand pat, while trying to increase economy as much as possible. Meanwhile my Soviets are making good time in Finland.

Turn 10. Finland is on the verge of collapse. Already troops are next to it on two hexes. France builds more fortifications and Germany continues to build factories.

... Also the Spanish Civil War ended, with a Nationalist win, and Thailand joined the Japanese.
