Is multi-player down
Just loaded up PBEM and played my turn.
Tried to upload the game at the end of my turn and are getting a "General Error 15" message.
Then tried to log back in to PBEM and are getting the same error message.

Hi
You don't need a link When you click on your short cut to the game a box comes up. Bottom right is what you need to click

Sorry to hear about the trouble, please try from this direct link:

For those of us not computer literate, what do I do with the file once downloaded please?

Please unzip it, usually a right click and then select the decompress or unzip option. Then double click the installer EXE and it should install for you pretty straight forward after that.
Hope this helps,
Hubert

RE: Is multi-player down
I have upgraded to v. 1.09, it seems to work fine but it gives me a General Error when I try to save or quit my MP games (it manage to download games, though). Is it a server issue?

Hi Phenix_slith,
Sorry to hear about the trouble and my guess is it is probably a server issue as I just ran a quick test and seems to be working now fine on my end. Can you confirm?

RE: Is multi-player down
Hi Hubert,
I ran into a problem with the last update. I was in the middle of my move in an MP game when I noticed on my other monitor that WaW was updating. I thought that's not good. And I was right. My game crashed without saving and I had to redo my move.
Anyway, no big deal. And the problem could be Steam not Slytherine. But I thought you might want to know.

Thanks for the info and that does indeed sound like Steam doing the auto-update. I would have assumed it would have done it while not in the game, but I guess not which doesn't seem to be a good idea as it could lead to the type of issue you had in your game.

Thanks for the reply. No, actually the issue is still there. I can download games from the server, but when I try to save/quit, it prompts 'Connection error [15]. General error, please try again'.

Thanks for the follow up and I believe we'll have to take this offline if it is repeatable so I can help you more directly.

I have been having the same issue that Phenix_slith mentioned above.
Anyone figure out a fix to the issue?

RE: Correction error 15
Hi smchechnie,
The issue is likely your login is no longer compatible with the server as there have been some changes.
1) Please navigate to your USER folder for the game, typically found here:
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - World at War
2) Open the sc3.ini file and look for your PBEM++ login user name near the bottom of the file. Likely it is an email address or something else other than your current forum username.
3) Replace it with your forum username, e.g. smckechnie
4) Save the file, relaunch the game and let me know if this resolves the issue for you.
