Are these safe to install over steam versions, or should we wait for the steam release?

Beta builds don't get pushed to Steam. Only official ones.

And yes they are safe to install over Steam.

Possible problem with new beta release. It seems to run all right, but if I try to upgrade a scenario to the newest database, it crashes. Screenshot attached.

Exact same thing as Mgellis here to, same error, tried multiple scenarios. once I went back to Build 1147.7 all is good.

Guys, can we please stick with reporting issues on individual threads on the tech support forum? Tracking and resolving becomes an order of magnitude harder when the reports are embedded within release announcement threads or other posts. Thanks :(

I really appreciate the quick hotfix, thank you.

So has this been patched or should we just hold out until the next beta?

I am not sure what players are missing out of if they just wait for official updates. Players are being used as beta testers. That's perfectly OK. Players might want to find a way to have two versions of Command on your system. Perhaps one via Steam (official) and the other via Matrix (beta).

That's what I do. The developers are clear:

NOTE: This is a public beta. Standard disclaimers apply.

This software is so complex that to find all the bugs takes a commercial player pool much larger than can be achieved via a relatively small beta test team. The system works, but it can be painful if players expect perfection on a beta release.

I am beginning to realize that a number of players don't know what a beta build is. This is the second player in I think a week that has seemed a little concerned about betas.

Not sure if you are referring to me but i do have Command setup as a dual exe system (just move a folder when desired) i was inquiring if the bug related to this release specifically the one where you cannot update the database of old scenarios has been fixed or not

There are issues with 055/DF-100 from the recent DB updates. even DBv487 still have the same issue.

For "#2834 Type 055 destroyer", number of channels for the SA-10 missile datalink is wrong. in DB487 it has a value of 1. In the cheaper and older 052D, the number of channel is 24. So now a 055 can only hit one aerial target at a time.

I also believe the "Type 052D" should carry the 346B AESA radar instead of 346A. 346A is the older PESA type for the yet older 052C destroyer.

Also For "#3669 DF-100", the cruise attitude is 24000 ft AGL. I suppose it is a typo and mean 240,000 ft instead? This thing was flying at Mach 5 and Band1 Performance section states it has a ceiling of 1,850,000 feet.

Completely the wrong thread for this.
Look under Mods and Scenarios, Requests and Issues with DB3K. Or words to that effect.
