[Logged] Graphics - pixel rough edges

Post by britten »

Are there any plans to introduce some pixel edges smoothing technology (anti-aliasing or something)? IMHO old Command (up on screenshot below) was looking a bit better in this regard. I remember my first impression after running C:MO was that it's quite heavily pixelated.

Quick questions:

1) using same monitor?
2) both using the GPU?
3) Both using the same resolution?
4) Both using the same AA settings?

I just tested CMO on my HD laptop built in screen (1080p) and it looks like the top pic. On my large monitor (720p), it looks like the bottom. My Surface Book 2 with 3000 x 2000 is even sharper. No AA on in either and all using some form of an nVidia GPU.

Its also odd that the bottom pic is so much darker than the top one.

I just ran C:MANO, did a screenshot, ran C:MO and made a screenshot. I think that was the same scenario, it may be that the units are different. But it really doesn't matter. When I run C:MANO and C:MO one after another I can easily note the difference just by looking at default screen after running random mission.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like it's the exactly same unit.

I second this. CMO looks very pixelated for me too compared to old CMANO.

I set on the nvidia control panel (but it will be the same for the radeon cards)for the command program the antialiasing mode in: excludes any setting, and the antialiasing setting in: 32xcsaa, forcing the video card to apply the maximum AA setting. it works, there are fewer jaggies...

That worked and the lines are much smoother now. Thanks!

Hello, after a little break. Has there been any progress with that issue maybe? I recently upgraded my PC with new video card (GTX 1650 4GB) but still the game is quite heavily pixelated (as indicated in the first post). I can provide more screenshots and other information if this would help.
