An AAR is not a report of competition, score or merit.

[&o] I look forward to the Party's directives about what can be told in a AAR
ORIGINAL: rico21

Because in this case it incites cheating, for example by disabling the OBA or by studying in the editor the opposing device.

Only a very inexperienced player would like to resort to such means to achieve an almost endless string of Major Victories.
ORIGINAL: rico21

An AAR must transport you into the scenario, you revive the torment of poor guys and heroes, often the same, who fought hard at that time.
A successful AAR makes you want to play the scenario and more, buy the game!

It's difficult to revive the torments of who fought hard when one side does not fight at all and the battles look like leaving a bunch of SS-Einsatzgruppen loose at a hippy festival.

I'll amend the AAR of Bastogne according to the Party Lines! [&o]

0-4 points: What are you doing here? Go buy Paratrooper and read chapter K.
5-9 points: You should be reading the rules instead of this silly test.
10-19 points: You seem to be getting the hang of this game, but you too often
do the obvious thing. Be creative.
20-29 points: You certainly know how to use the rules to your best advantage.
Play some more scenarios for even better practice.
30-39 points: Have you ever considered making a series replay of one of your
games? They must be great fun to watch.
40-49 points: They should introduce a heroic 10-3 counter and put your name
on it.
50 points: Yeah, sure. And all those snake eyes in your PBEM games are real,
too.

0 point.You are a friend of Rico.

I scored 32.

You missed a few:

1. Have you as the Germans with a JgPzIV(L) moving BU, with an 9-2 AL, fired at a Russian T-34/85 with an 9-2 AL at 21 hexes, improbable hit. DR = 1,1, then your next dr is 1? CH! It was awesome! Next turn he smoked my JgPzIV, but it was well worth it to see the look on his face...

Or

2. Have you as the Russians playing Red Barracades CG on day three, had a HIP 9-2, with 2x 6-2-8, with a HMG and a FL, in a Factory location, wait (sweating) as your opponent wises uses 2x 2-4-8 half squads to move into the factory and do their search attempts but he forgets to search one rubble hex thinking no way, and then moves in a 10-2, with 3x 8-3-8 with DC and FL and as the brain sweat clears, he moves one more hex going CX adjacent to my HIP stack when I said "STOP!" and unleash a 36 flat 0/-1 and roll a 1,1? All I said was rate! He was not a happy camper as they all rolled KIA for random selection...

Or

3. Have you ever as the Japanese setup your HIP stack containing a 9-1 and 4-4-8 with a HMG and wait for the USMC player with a 9-2 and 2x 6-5-8 walk right into your hex at take a TPBF of 36 -2?

The Defense of Luga (in COI, not ASL):
1) The Russian player (grinning) moves a KV-2 comes adjacent to a 37mm ATG
2) The German player (myself) "What the hell, I'm going to die anyway, let's try to immobilize it"
3) Critical hit, KV2 killed! [X(]
Even though we had played all the previous COI scenario, no CH ever occurred... both the Russian player and I stared at the wreck in disbelief.

Red Barricades:
1) The Russian player spent an inordinate amount of points to purchase a remote-controlled DC.
2) A German squad entered the hex
3) The Russian detonated the DC
4) The German squad rolled an incredible series of dice and not only survived unscathed, but generated a 8-1 leader and became Battle Hardened too!

I am pleased to present the first AAR in the world before the scenario is played.[8D]

Which player are you?

The gunner who masters blitzkrieg perfectly and who knows that nothing can resist an armored assault. If his last tank burns on the plain, he will pretend that the odds were against him.

The assaulter who masters urban assaults and close combat and knows how to manage the morale of his troops perfectly. If his last men die under machine gun bullets, he will say that he prefers the scenarios on Stalingrad anyway.

The walker is careful, he knows that the gunner and the assaulter will fail on the first attempt and prefers to bypass the main enemy defenses. If he does not have enough time to take the objectives, he will tell us that the scenario is impossible.

You will find out soon which player you are!

or maybe the fuselex .
no particular plan .
it could cover all of the above , or none .
just run toward objectives , and eventually on the last couple of turns send what resources you have left to take VP`s ,
not a solid plan , but surprisingly it can work :)
and it is fun :)
