what i hate ( light hearted )

Post by fuselex »

do you know what i hate

i drink spirits mixed with the mighty fine beverage of cola.
giving me a two hundred dollar bottle of fine whiskey is like feeding a pig strawberries , i will finish that in record time .
and will look for more.
but i have a little tool to measure my intake , a nip measurer , most have this tool
i pour 2 nips of booze then add 200 ml of cola .

but occassionally , early or later in the morning i seem to get confused on the ratio`s

2 nips of cola with 200 ml of spirit ?

I hate that :)

hey rico , lots of smoke where I am . 100 kms away but it takes your breath away , many oldies are getting admitted to hospital for breathing problems.
even out of the danger zone there are major effects ,the news reports the major cities , as hazardous as they are , in our little town we are recording 4 times the amount of pollution as any major city .
at a guess , if we had 2 or 3 days in a week without suffocating smoke , that is good , rainfall is improving , but January is our best month .
we are getting about a quarter of our annual rainfall now ,

try not to take away from the light heartiness , but in my little town , cool climate , we averaged up until 2018 , 15 days equalling 30 degrees or above .
a couple of weeks of what we consider hot :) 2019 brought 70 days of 30 + compounded with a big drop in rainfall

God Bless David to you and your family!

Australia is going through some tough times now. From what I see here on the news in the States it looks to be pretty goddamn bad over there right now. When I saw the fire map I was shocked. I even saw where a news caster said one fire covers more area than the island of Manhattan in New York City. That is huge!

I pray the Lord Almighty and Mother Nature bring all of Australia much much needed rain and fast.

You and your family are in my prayers David.

Best always!!!!!!

news varies depending on what channel you watch .

but one report a week ago

A record-breaking area of land has been burned in New South Wales this bushfire season, according to the latest figures released by the Rural Fire Service.

A total of 4.9m hectares – an area larger than Denmark – has been destroyed in the state during the nationwide fire crisis.

The total area burned across NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania has now reached 8.4m hectares – an area larger than Scotland

January is looking pretty good at the moment where I am ,
smoke is nearly a memory ,
we have had 140 mm of rain so far :)
last year to this day was .2 mm
300mm for the year 2019, which was about 500 mm less than the average , not anything outstanding but we are in a climate where rainfall is expected , over the last 20 years it is changing .
we have now had in 19 days , nearly half of what we received last year .
the drought and fires have not stopped , but things are looking better where I am

I have never classified myself as an environmentalist as such ,
no objection to mining and lumbering through out my life of 52 years ,
it gives life to communities , finances , jobs and an income to support said families .

but at what cost ?
i imagine no matter where you are from , there is a change happening ,

serious bushfires happen ever summer here , but the temps are rising and the droughts are more common ,

hence videos like this are becoming the norm

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK36n8Ut2bE

and they are not extremist views anymore , they are views of people who have been around for a while

And I`m 52 , so I know nothing will be done :)
we will debate , hold conferences , many important people will attend , maybe an international consortium of important people will arrive ? .
so we need to hold this debate for at least 2 weeks ,
and they will walk away patting each others back while slipping a few coins in the others pocket

The other day I meet an old friend who asks me what is happening to me.
I answer him that I am a happy man because my country does everything that I ask him.
Ah well he answers, and what did you ask him?
Nothing.

do you know what I hate ?

looking through the forums to find rico`s Stalingrad series .

I believe it is

blood and guts
bread factory
to the rescue
the last bid 2
turned away
the red house

I may have missed some , and have them in the wrong order .
but it is a great set of scenarios , that should be played one after the other .

well , maybe I don't really hate that ?

because it is well worth the effort .
