what do you collect?
Hello. What are things that you collect? I'm focused on collecting historical books & magazines, historical DVD movies, strategy & tactics (for the most part) PC games (Steam. GOG, Matrix, Battlefront, games CD/DVD)
RE: what do you collect?
I collect cash. It's a hobby of mine [;)][:D]
I also collect books. Library was over 9400 last time I indexed it.
And PC games. I am closing on a hundred now, but some are to old.

I seriously don't know what to do with them all. Nobody seems to want books anymore. It's all e-readers. I have an instruction in my will to donate to the library, or give them to a used bookstore.

RE: what do you collect?
Aside from the obvious two (PC games and board games)...
I love collecting music (mostly Heavy Metal) -- CDs, vinyl, and even tapes. It all takes up a lot of space and I probably have more hours of music than I do free time for the rest of my life [:D]

If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?

I remember doing that in the pre-internet days. I couldn't find a copy of "The Handbook on German military forces" anywhere but the local library, so I said I lost it and paid $25.
Interestingly its a copy from 1975 with the German eagle in the inside cover, something the newer version with Steven Ambrose's intro lacks.
RE: what do you collect?
I buy wargames to play them, but It´s turning out that for the most part I end up collecting them because I don´t have much time to learn new rules every month. In other words, don´t know If I´ll ever get to play them all! Same goes with books. I do enough reading on screen, so at my age I rather read on paper if I can. Music is different, I love to FIND old LP´s and buy them at good prices, then I just pull out any LP I never heard of and have a listen.

RE: what do you collect?
WW2 computer games, mainly tactical operational and grand strategy primarily land-based titles.
And of course, Barbie Dolls, China Dolls, Teddy bears, Models (shitloads of models), I have for instance 4 scales of Panther tank, 4 scales of Jagdpanther tank, 3 scales of most of the primary tanks of WW2. A lot of 72nd scale WW2 aircraft, and a very large naval collection in 1/700 and 1/350th scale. Plus a lot of Lego, half Creator 3in1 sets and the other half Friends sets (the ones for girls). As you can imagine, my shelves are epic.
You can't see the army of teddy bears to the right, or the 35th scale models, or the teddy bears to the left, and the 25th scale armour and the 48th scale armour. But check out my Lego Tiger tank in the lower left and my Sailor Moon Funko Pop animation figures.
Once upon a time I had a massive military reference library. Hundreds of hardcover reference.
Got rid of it though. Eventually, you can go too deep into all that ugly knowledge. I traded it all in for romance novels (this is where you cringe). You don't even want to know the dollar value I turfed.

Shopping 60% of the time.
Exlains why I buy em more than I play em.

RE: what do you collect?
My wife had a large collection of dolls. She finally gave them away after the grandkids told her that every time they come by the dolls scare them.
