Just finished a game on approach ground to Goslar, it was interesting ground.

Image
This is the east of Goslar, meeting engagement game.

Image
Looks like wide open field, but small hills and shallow valleys made this ground more interesting.

Image
Fierce battle between T-80BVs and Challenger / Chieftains.

Image
Their push was dangerous, that river valley was good approaching route for T-80BVs, minimized exposure against ATGMs. Fortunately, my Chieftains came to rescue.

Image
Game finished as draw.

Looks like a good map, great work. I will see if I can report anything in Goslar region in the future.

I found some rocky fields and rocky mountains around the high grounds surrounding Goslar. They are regarded as impossible terrain. Is this OK to have this amount of rocky mountains?

Are these the rocky slopes you are referring to? Those are generated by the game to represent steep slopes. I know there is a quarry east of Goslar that is rough terrain as well, but it surrounded by dirt track.

Oh, OK, then they should be good. I was just thinking, those high grounds would be one of the priority to take for both sides. I didn't know game automatically generate the no-go zone based on height, good to catch that.

It’s based on change in elevation, so a steep slope is impassable to vehicles.

I am almost finished with the beta version of the map. I have just the bottom half of the southeast quadrant left to complete. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will get it uploaded.

Thanks! Those are highways, and paved roads (residential roads in the OSM data).

I think I’ve got about 50-70 hours of time invested in this map. Veitikka the in-game map editor is even better than I thought before I set out on this project. It definitely needs hotkeys added for the other terrain at some point.

Great effort pal, I really wish if I can spend more time on map work. Once I make sure my self about map painting or if devs publish map making manual, I may need to looking for more people who is interested in this work in Korean forum for my Korean war mod.

Anyway, I agree with more hotkey. I'm also currently working with AB map editor, and right now I copy and pasted the smaller version of AB palette in the map. But I need to move that "palette section" after I finish target region, which become bothering time to time.

Download, drop the folder in your drive letter:Steam>steamapps>common>Armored Brigade>data>map

You'll see the other map folders in there.
