Hmmm... Trouble brewing in south. Three M4's spotted there. Tried to engage them with an improved Chi-Ha with no good results. :(

Some fighting near center as two Para squads are driven back to the woods. Meanwhile flametanks keep things hot for the marines up north.

Jap arty started bombarding a suspected USMC arty park and even managed to destroy an ammo carrier. Nice one.

More blood is spilled ...

... in the jungle, as the Marines and Japs continues the war on three fronts.

It is evident that the Marines are in trouble in the North, where a vastly superior Japanese force is attacking with numerous tanks and flame tanks.:eek:

The centre battle ground is fairly quiet awaiting the Japanese onslaught, if they have any drive left.

To the Soputh the MArines are making good progress sending three more tanks to the eternal emperial hunting grounds :D :D :D

Quiet turn...

Killed that turretless immobilized M4 in the north. That plus some random shooting here and there.

A bit of hand-to-hand. Nothing much.

The Japs must be regrouping.

Things are getting interesting in the center as paratroopers and flamethrower squads are being pushed back by the Japs. :D

Elsewhere quiet.

Times are getting tough for the Marines ...

Post by Berserk »

... who are digging in North and Center.

There are positive signs though. To the north a Jap MBT, an CS Tank and a sniper gets a little to high on sake and pays the penalty. :D :D :D

Towards the Center and South nothing much.

The Japs are clearly using their heavy artiellery to make their best of the US forces tendency to supress easily. :(

I wish there would be a good response to this tactic.

Killed some raiders and a machine-gun. Also tried to destroy an M4 but only managed to cause some minor damage.

There's are some major fires in the jungle, so breathing is getting difficult and therefore troops are gaining suppression even without being fired at by the enemy...

The battle is getting scewed.

The Japs are killing Marines to the North whilst the Marines are killing Japs to the South.

How will this end

Burning M4, scorched marines and great balls of fire in the north as my SS Engineer Tanks keep rolling forwards. :D

Some progress were made in the center also. Hopefully this will give a boost to those fighting in the south... It's looking rather grim down there. :(

Two M4's wrecked by assaults, one in the center, other in the south (finally some success there). :D

There seems to be considerable amount of paratroopers near the central vhexes... Now fewer than before, though. ;)

Supported by artillery, Japanese troops keep advancing, killing everyone foolish enough to stand in their way. :D North is as good as mine and there's a huge push for the central vhexes also. We'll see if the Amis can do anything about it...

It seems like a stalemate in the south where yet another M4 is neutralized as it's cowardly crew decides to abandon it. :D The advancing marine corps have been stopped, for a moment at least...

The Marines are cursing whoever decided that they should fight a day where the rain is bugging them down to a degree that one can only move one hex at a time.

The brace themselves for what has to come.

They are not going to give up easily though. Two Jap Tanks must die and a third (fleme) barily gets away on luck!

In the aftermath a M4 takes a direct hit from a 75 and burns.

Marines should be thankful - Japs would have killed them much earlier if the rain had not slowed things down... ;)

Two more burning M4's (one just can't avoid killing them... Not even with Japanese tanks) and dozens of dead raiders and paratroopers.

A white flag has been seen waiving over the remainder of the US Marine Core positions.

At head quarter a furious row has broken out, the general being visiously attacked for having accepted to take a battle on a rainy day where movement is restricted to one or two hexes -- and late reinforcements have no way of making it onto the battle field.

In turn the General blames the captains for their inability to stand up to the Japs, who have so excellently profitted on their large squad size and squad morters.

He will definetly never go into battle under like circumstances with the same troops. The blame is on himself -- and he knows that.

Or in fact he could also blame the Jap General who knew exactly hhow to handle himself and his troops on a day such as this.

T: Jap, 5662 Decisive Victory
B: USMC, 1616 Crushing Defeat

Well done T
