is this game dead

Piercing Fortress Europa is a new game from veteran game designer Frank Hunter, which covers the campaigns of the Western Allies from July, 1943 through the end of April, 1945 in Sicily and Italy. Each area has its own map and time scale to best represent the campaigns for Sicily and Italy and the player is offered complete freedom, limited only by a historical order of battle and logistics model, to plan his operations and explore all of the many “what ifs” that the Italian theater has to offer.

is this game dead

...will the developer ever come back to this game? Or at least comment to the forum.

...is there anything planned for PFE or maybe new theater?

the WEGO system is future to gaming.

I think the developer (Frank Hunter) has been working on an update for 'Campaigns on the Danube' v3.04, which should be issued any time.

Hopefully attention will return to PFE at some time and I would like to see more theatres and scenarios published, using this game system.

Frank is one of the few people producing good quality WEGO games, while other developers have moved into micro-managing monster titles. 'PFE' and 'Campaigns on the Danube' are both gems in the spirit of past wargaming, but with a small development team progress is inevitably slow.

The game is playable and has benefited from a great graphics makeover by Chemkid, 'Campaigns on the Danube' had bigger problems, which, not surprisingly are being given the attention right now.

The PFE scenario folder shows that Frank had thoughts of extending PFE into other theatres (NA, France) and is also considering extending 'Campaigns' into additional scenarios. Any, or all of this can happen and as it is reported that 'Campaigns' v3.04 is with Matrix waiting for release, so work is taking place.

These two WEGO games are a priceless addition to the gaming scene and, although progress is obviously slow, it is ongoing
