Air model, I'm stumped.

OK, OK, I've read the manual and I've skimmed the posts and I still can't find the answer to a most perplexing problem. As far as I can tell the Air Model conforms to the classic definition of insanity; that is to repeat the same action time after time and expect different results. To demonstrate, I've loaded one of the scenarios and made no changes. I want to bomb the airfield at Kaunas, but no fighter will escort the raid. As this is the very first action of the game I would expect all fighters that are in range to be available.

OK, so now I switch to ground attack. Still no fighters.

But for some reason, all the fighters want to escort the recons.

After this I checked and found this condition throughout the AGN. What am I missing?

Look at the range of your bombers. They are actually coming from AGS all the way to Kaunas. Simply select the air base of AGN and use shift + right click. Then you get the right bombers and fighters.

OK, got it! I had been simply starting the process by shift-right clicking the target. I have to first select The fighter base from which I wish to attack.
