GD1938 Game 14 AAR

Post by cpdeyoung »

France and Great Britain are preparing for a defense as developments in Europe, and the Far East, do not bode well.
We have sent diplomatic feelers to possible allies. Perhaps if an alliance of prudent powers is formed we can avoid
conflict. However no matter how sensible peace is, someone seems ready to roil the waters. The urge to take a chance
on warfare is too great.

Forming an alliance to prevent war is a delicate thing.

I recall how peaceful you were in the last game You attacked Germany.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

You misrepresent Germany we just want peace. A piece of Poland a piece of Czechoslovakia a piece of France, surely that's not to much to ask[:)]

Poland? Czechoslovakia? France, oh, yes, we heard about it. Part the old world. Strange people. Prefer nothing else than a strong cup of coffee and a cigarette for breakfast, long small white bread for any other meal and wear ugly small caps that look the same before and after a car went over it. They use a strange language noone outside their country might understand. Even more strange that that one the British use, who are hard to understand anyway.

Whatever happens on the other side of the Atlantic, nothing of interest for USA as long as European markets are not influenced by any trouble some Europeans politicans cause some noise in the newspapers. Lets wait til the German bigmouth has calmed and we all can talk like intelligent people as we and the Brits are (not sure about any other people east and west of the Atlantic).

I like my Gauloises and French Coffee and Bread Sticks, and there are no need for Cowboy hats on Les Avenue des Champs elysee's our little hats with the bobble suit us very well thank you.
And les Allemandes have no intention of starting a war after the last bloodbath who would be that mad. And if they do we will throw breadsticks at them and blow smoke from our Gauloises in their faces. And the English will force them to eat their food a fate worse than death.

There is even some more painful fate: To be forced to eat English food or drink English beer. [:D]

Ooof!

Now that hurts. Hitler smashed through Belgium as if treaty obligations were nonexistent. A mass of artillery, the
Luftwaffe, and five Panzer divisions assaulted Lille, which held on by its teeth. The Great War headlines are quite
appropriate. The French tried to reduce the artillery facing Lille, but only lost valuable aircraft. Italy also is
at war, and North Africa is in play. Here is the Kill/Loss report for the French.

The German thrust into Belgium looks like an dark disease, and Lille like a fever ridden wound. The whole non-Axis
world has to look on with concern.

I am working on the turn now.

I am glad to see that the "horse" unit has 50 morale anyway. Perhaps these are ponies and will grow up to be draft
horses.

Does any one know how this can be?

Perhaps they are on strength but failed to answer at roll call, so they are currently AWOL.

I would check the French kitchen units they eat horses when short of supplies.

It may be an error in the initial deployment of the unit. That is a mistake in setting up, from the creators of the game.

It will not reveal too much to admit that the non-horses reside in Cabinda.

The French kitchens are a possibility!

A battalion of French infantry wandered into Stuttgart, and liberated quantities of war materials, including wurst.

Hitler put out a memo, Stuttgart is a open city, he would rather a Battalion of French tourists than a artillery park full of French shells.
